We were out done by H Bay supporters. It would of been nice to have hot drinks too, missed a chance there as the Bay support went into town looking for refreshments -before the game, at half time and a pint on final whistle was talked of. They must have thought they were at Southwood!!!!!!

Agree with that. He used to play in the same team as Jim when they were much younger and was a good player then. I feel that a lot of their ability comes from their trainer back then (Kevin Kentfield) and of course their own. By the way for those who think Jamie is only right footed watch carefully. This season - 6 with left 10 with right. Over the years it`s been about the same ratio. I think he is one of the best 2 footed players around, for his age.

Are the U18's,U16's players 'contracted' to MFC. ?

It occurred to me, that the larger league clubs are always scouting, and in the main try and find younger players with potential.

Thereby ,if there is a very promising U18,U16 player;the likes of Chelsea could come along and tempt him;and the club would get nothing out of it.

We have said before that a few local players have bypassed Margate-i guess Leroy Lita is possibly an example-but it may well be despite the new emphasis on youth teams, the club still gain absolutely nothing unless these younger players are contracted to MFC.

The odd one will still bypass the club, but at least it would not hurt so much if the club got something out of helpibg to develop their footballing futures.

Wonder if anyone knew how things actually 'worked'

Wolverhampton Wanderers were watching someone last Tuesday. Who and which team i have no idea.

A the Reserve game a week Tuesday, there was a scout. He was very interested in our youngsters, asking many questions.

The u18s are not on contracts. Most come in at 16/17 and play at this level for 2 years. As you can imagin the turn-round is huge as each season comes and goes and only a very few go on with-in Margate ranks so I guess that unless theres a really outstanding player who has not been spotted it`s not worth the trouble of contracting this age group. Think it would cause more trouble that it`s worth. u18 are still waiting for their gate passes for home games!
