Slagging Players off??? Why????

Its understandable that there is frustration around at the mo but alot of it is down to the size of the squad we have compared to the likes of the clubs around us . Its right that Trotty brought in some quality players at the begining of the season and just having a squad with that sort of player in it made everyone sit up and at last take note that MFC were a club not to be taken lightly this season.

The only downfall on who Trotty brought in was the age they are ,none of them are spring chickens and they are all picking up the odd injury more than usual, more so now than ever as well as the suspensions . We`ve all got to agree the older we get the harder things can be and there is no experienced players to cover when this occurs so this is where its slightly backfired on us . In a way its lucky we`ve had no cup runs this year that could have added another 10 games on to what the lads have already played , imagine what that could have done to a few of our older boys but they keep on going and they will battle on till the end .

Danny is one of the young one`s and he knows that there is alot of pressure on him to bring in the goals , at this time he`s not scoring so there is more pressure than ever to hit the back of the net , but he`s only human and things will go wrong , we all drop at times but we eventually pick up and get back to our best . This team has got to bring sucess back to HDP and its also got to help us forget the past 3-4 years of crap we`ve had so thats a big ask from a group of players that were not even around ( bar 2-3 ) so the best we can hope for is the best they can do until the squad is settled and they can pick & choose without any worry from a squad of 15-20 desent players .

Some people want instant success it dose`nt work like that , unless there is lots of money and that only works for a while untill everyone gets board and leaves then your back to square 1 . IM JUST GLAD WE HAVE A TEAM TO WATCH because we almost did`nt have one .

Just butting in for a general observation... Apart from it being an English trait to moan...Any footy forum you read across the country is the same. They have thier constant whingers and moaners. A team will go on a losing streak, and let's face it, most of us do and out they come. Armchair tacticians come out in force. Men are the worst wink The frustrated 'footballers', those that have never made it past the school team (if they get picked) Or still playing in the Sunday League, but never got thier break....

 

The players will always be slagged off to a certain extent cos we hold our dreams in their hands (or boots) and no one likes to lose.

 

DH has come under fire. But, his record speaks for itself. Top goalscorer for most of the season wink I can moan my head off all i like about Jon Main for the chances he misses..But, this is why these players are at this level. They'd have been on the telly by now if they had that extra bit of something special and we could all moan about them on there! grin

 

Look at the England team in the last world cup. Where did we find all those donkeys? Gawd did i moan....

 

But, one thing i won't do is moan about individual players unless they do not put in the effort. But who are we to know what is going on in their minds and legs?

 

Depth of squad,hmmm...Chelmo have reportedly got a very small squad, what position are they in?

 

Bring in new players.... So many teams vying for the same quality players. Geographic and financial restraints...

 

How long have we got to wait til the next World Cup? Mass moan up country wide.... yay

Surely, Bitch, my statement was as far from Nazism as is possible? I was simply stating that everyone has differing opinions, and everyone is entitled to such opinions; hence, disagreement ensues. But that does not stop the fact that everyone is allowed to express their views. Now if that is in anyways related to Hitler's stance, then I have no idea what I was learning in history!

Sory Dutch_Mike, it wasn't a personal attack on you. I'm just using your post as an example.
Football forums are a hive of differing opinions. My point is that some people use them for other motives. Somewhere to vent thier spleens when other things in their life are not quite right....

It seems so much easier to point out others shortcomings so as to detract from our own. These players are on a public stage because they are gifted. We are not, in the footballing sense. Is it only a British thing to knock our own when they are on the way up? shocked

Since you asked!

I think you are always going to get people's opinions on a players form, but I would not say people are slagging anyone off. They are just giving their opinion on what they see, and if we all had the same opinions on a player/match/performance then this forum could get very boring! The whole point of a forum is to put across our thoughts, and at times debate them!

People are just giving their views, but they're not purposely slagging anyone off.

Just remember that it is all said because we care about Margate FC and want to see the team do well and acheive better things. Players will always be praised when they do well and get a bit of flak when they're not, but thats all it is and it's part of sport as a whole. I'm sure (and hope) that we will be back to praising the team before long.

Overall, the debate about all these things is part of what makes football great.

I don't agree with slagging players of personally, but other people will think differently. Now Hockton hasn't played well lately and we all know that, but there has been plenty of times this season where Hockton has not played well, but has scored goals. We need to encourage the players out of form as that helps more Standen is a prime example and now i am happy to have Standen at the club.
