On the subject of increasing awareness and attendances. Why oh Why is the official website so out of date with news information. When you look around the sites of other conference clubs we are light years away. Does this come under the sales and marketing unbrella? There's no mention of yesterdays promotion or season ticket sales. As we are now full time I would imagine we are a proper buiness. A little investment wouldn't go a miss here considering the amount of supporters who have access to the internet. God forbid you could even do a online competition or promotion where you would be able to capture details of the entrant.

What news do you want/ expect? If there isnt news to report, you cant report it. Perhaps it should be made up just so something can be put on the site? The only additional bit that could be added in my eyes is news on injuries, etc, and input from Liam. I'm not sure why you say its "so out of date"?

Let me think Alan. The last news on there is dated 22/2/07 (except easter soccer school) we are now 18/3/07. What has happened since then? Season ticket prices, reduced admission. Thats quite big news considering the debates on here about increasing publicity.

what one tooth is saying, the same as others is it does need looking at, it does need up dating regular, it isnt as good as other sites. Its not a case of over to you to do better. someone can and has the experiance to do better at anything in life, doesnt meen you cant comment on it.as for put up or shut up thats a bloody stupid statement to come up with.
i apreciate the fact that dave has done a thankless task of getting the site going again, and its all his own time and effort, but the fact still remains more time needs to be put into it to use the site to its full potential, espeially as just about every fan uses the internet to check footy news/fixtures/prices etc.
i happen to agree with others on this, and have looked at the site recently, and my first reaction was, whats the point!

thats shocking that the northwich game isn't posted anywhere unless you look at the fixtures. the club moan about not having loads of people coming to watch. But you can't blame the public when a re-arranged fixture is secretly posted in the fixture list. It should be in the news part as well, what's going on?

So from now till the end of the season we play like this:

friday

tuesday

saturday

tuesday

saturday

monday

saturday

thursday

saturday

saturday.

hope the players can do it

Also, when I passed the ground during Sunday afternoon, the next home match was still shown as being Burton. When it was steward Gary Vaughan's job to change the fixture details, he would do so without fail before he left the ground after each match! Presumably it only gets changed now on the Monday following a Saturday home game (at the earliest). Some free advertising time is therefore lost. This is even more incomprehensible when a Friday night game is the next match to be played.

I started this thread, not as a way of pointing fingers at certain people for not doing a good job. I work on two websites and one to come so I know how difficult it is to keep content up to date. I wanted to highlight that the web site should be used as a communication tool to keep in contact with the fans. Dave does do a good job but we employ a sales and marketing manager on a salary to do a sales and marketing job. The website should be high on the list of priorities in my opinion and I state in my opinion.

Hopefully Liam can work some magic with him. I am slightly concerned that it has been stated that he has been unable to claim a regular place in the Grays team. This of course being the Grays Athletic who have been in freefall for months. Those chosen in front of him clearly haven't won games for them either.

I suppose you could be right, but it does so often happen that a player can benefit from joining a new club playing with different players, a long time ago I know, but I remember Andy Woon being a far better player when he was with us than he ever was with Maidstone, something a fair few Maidstone commented on at the time.

So let's give the guy a chance to settle in he may have something.
