A crowd of 68 braved the bitterly cold conditions but had to wait until the 34th minute before there was any real action. A through ball split the Bridgnorth defence and Smith curled a shot goal wards, a finger tipped save denied the Reds new boy his first goal. From the corner there was a goal mouth scramble with several shots blocked before Creighton finally tapped home the ball from close range.

 

The second half started and it was the Reds who looked likely to increase their lead until on 60 minutes a melee in the visitors box saw Corns somehow scramble the ball into the net to level things up.

 

On 67 minutes a Smith freekick was meet by Bullimore, his header banging against the bar. Six minutes later and a Smith corner was headed downwards by Bullimore, only for keeper Jones to stoop low to catch the effort.

 

With the Reds pressing a Whitcombe flick found Bullimore in space and his 20 yard volley went just wide in the 79th minute. On 85 minutes the Reds were in the lead again when a quality cross by Smith found the high jumping Bullimore, his rocket header smashed into the net.

 

Just as it looked like the Reds would record their first win of the year, disaster struck when in the 5th minute of added time the defence failed to clear the ball and in nipped Craven to equaliser with the final touch of the game.

 

Willenhall entertain Causeway on Saturday 3pm kickoff before visiting Wednesfield on Tuesday.
