Pelly Cup Semi Final

The Urchins' colts suffered a 2 0 reverse against Dagenham and Redbridge today in the Pelly Cup Semi Final.

First of all, a big mention for the task force who worked on the pitch on Saturday to make it playable and not dangerous as it would have been the previous week with a very uneven surface.

The game started at a frenetic pace and the Urchins keeper was under tremendous pressure from the two Daggers strikers, early on, to say the least.

As any Semi Final is, the early stages were very tough with the best chance falling to Urchin's Edward Freeman to lob the Dagger's keeper just before half time. The chance was not taken and just after the break the Daggers scored a crucial goal, a cross from the left being headed home very well.

That opened the game up a little but the Urchins' passing game was not on song although they were coming into the game more as it progressed.

Daggers netted in the closing stages with a bad Urchin's clearance and the ball picked up to be sent into an empty net.

Good luck to the Daggers in the final and hard luck to Tony's boys in what was a hard but fair game.
