According to an earlier piece on the BBC Website, yesterday. ALL 72 managers and SOME Chairman in the Football League, are NOT in favour of the proposal to introduce penalty shoot-outs to decide drawn games.

 

The proposed changes are to make games more interesting, and hopefully encourage some of the 'stay away' fans to return. I doubt this would have a great effect, as fans go the watch the game as a whole, not just for the result. If the penalty shoot-out points went towards a teams match points, then in theory a team could draw every game and win the league.

Perhaps the League Chairman has to come up with a number of ideas each year to justify his existance ?.......someone should tell him not to bother !

It's just like golden goals and away goals, in that both those ideas, like this one, were designed to promote attacking football, but in fact can often have the opposite effect.
