Team v Sluff

I hate games like this when probably the whole world at least is expecting a win. Hopefully Matty will remind the troups of the debacle back at Slough before we go out there.

Heffer and Blewitt are both banned but Flackie should be back. It's a game we need to win, my team would be:

Worster

Julius McSweeney Dormer Kerrigan

Whelps Game Hunter Hodges

Holland Flack

subs: Hill, Swaine, Allen, Wayman, Burbridge

Didn't realise that. I see Matt Game starts a 3 match ban on the 24th also. Misses Ashford, Swifts & Ramsgate.

Hopefully then everyones available for Margate.

doah

The date of the alleged "incident" didn't register when I glanced at the FA site!

Apologies!

I think JL said on the Hampton thread that Brubs needs to improve. I agree that with Hodgie putting in some crosses then Burbs should be a threat, but there lies the issue for me. For a man of his stature he doesnt win any where near enough headers. He needs to be far more aggressive in his play.

No place for Swaine in my team.

Worster

gamo macca dorms kerrers

whelps hunter hill hodgie

allen flackie

The debate about Burbs continues...

I thought he was put out wide to keep the centre half busy out there, thus creating space for Holland and Whelpdale...On the other hand, we still appear to forget that the Hampton defence, like ours on the day, was tight. Chances were at a premium and I know that it certainly doesn't help that Burbs skied a chance but we appear to have forgotten that Holland had a chance go begging as well...

We have also forgotten that we have only scored two against Hampton this season both by Joe Flack...Their defence, like ours, is as tight as a ducks [****!!****].

I would agree that Burbs isn't as mobile as Holland, Whelpdale or Flack but I will say he has a great touch and in my opinion, could do a better job if put more central. I would've preferred to have seen him more central with Holland and Whelps feeding off him from either side. That as well as the opportunity for Holland and Whelps to provide. His game did improve when Hodges came on. He looked a lot more comfortable than being stuck out on the left.

I would certainly agree that perhaps a bit more effort may be required but in my opinion, the "shape up or ship out" thinking a little harsh. I think we have yet to see the best of Rikki Burbridge and although a Nathan Elder he ain't, we're still doing well with him in the squad and I can only assume that he is doing the job asked of him.

Then again, I'm putting a arguement to some that all but conceeded the league title to Chelmsford on Saturday...whistle

With the league this close there's too much football yet to be played for any early concession. However, they do have "on paper" one of the easier run-ins, but that can count for nothing as teams like ETU & Hendon are showing.

I'd stick with Rikki starting on Saturday.

Not into predicting teams (that's Matt's job) grin But what i do feel is "if" and a big if, we happened to net early on then we "may" see a few. However, Slough have already proved to us that if we do not turn up - they can punish. Let that be our warning.

So, lads. You've certainly got the ability...keep plugging away wink
