I know we are going on about this subject but the suspenions didnt help the team or Danny. I think James Pinnock has been dropping to deep of late and not supporting Danny with his runs. Pinns creates alot for DH ! And this goes unnoticed !. The captainancy hasnt helped Danny at all IMO. I hope DH hasnt falling into the trap of "too big for his boots"...ok ok dont slag me of for it but could there be an element of truth in it ?

Saunders gets my vote Andy !

I know what you mean Andy but he does sometimes "stroll" round the pitch ? Where as start of season he seemed more motivated, of course he could be just knackered as we have a small squad ! ??

In football a captain's main role is to call 'heads' or 'tails'. The position is even more irrelevant when you have a player-manager (as we do).

As for Hockton, he's a big guy and I suspect he needs regular games to keep himself match sharp. Postponements and heavy pitches may not be helping him.

Totally disagree !!! - In football a captains main role is to call "heads or tails" !!! Never heard such rubbish. Have you ever watch or played a game. I dont need to explain this one surely.......A captain is FAR MORE than just a coin [****!!****] !!!

DH doesnt decide the tatics as a captain ? He is there to lead, encourage, guide and talk to the team on or off the pitch ?

A captain is very important !!!! You might not see it or understand it but as you play higher football you will see it !

I have always felt that it is difficult for a centre forward to captain a side truly effectively, as by nature of his position he will not be able to command the whole squad. Also, it might detract from the main role of a centre forward, which is to put the flippin ball in the net!

But I am not too worried because our captain, Macca, is back at the weekend. This will free up Danny to do what he does best. Plus having Macca and Proths back in midfield will improve the service forward, (not to mention hopefully Jimmy and Skins doing what they do so well on the left), and maybe Pinns will not have to hold the ball up so much, and can join in attacks in the box.

Danny will score when the service is there for him. As to his fitness, I don't worry about that, it does not seem to matter to Danny, he puts them in anyway (remember that home game when he was injured and called to go off, but waited like a poacher for the cross and headed in before departing?)

As far as eleven captains in the team, we do have a few. Pat, Jimmy, Proths, Trotty, come on guys, who else, all are very vocal on the pitch, and rally the troops when playing.

Am I wrong or was Steve McKimm doing well as captain? As he is back on Saturday surely we can let Danny off and give the armband back to SM??

Someone put me right if I'm wrong please?!!!
