Readers may well remember my affection from last season for the England Amateur team represented by the Isle of Man, well, they played San Marino on Saturday night and not a whisper appears anywhere at all about the result, so you saw it here first .... just one thing , I need your help Coach 64 to tell us all if England played well though I summise we won 1-0 !

football-friendly:the B national side loses to England in the closing stages(0-1)

SAN MARINO B-ENGLAND AMATEUR REP SIDE 0-1 A real blow for SAN MARINO B side that lost marginally to England in a friendly with a goal scored by Morrisey,six minutes away from the final whistle.To make it worst,the goal was conceded thanks to a shot deflected by a San Marino defender,at the end of a close contested game where both attacks fired blanks.Sabani was the pick of the bunch for San Marino while Morrison and match winner Morrisey were the most dangerous players for England.

During the course of the second half,substitute keeper Ceccoli came on ,only to be sent off 15 minutes later because of a bad tackle on an England forward.Central defender Simone Valentini took his place in goal,and after a string of good saves he was ironically beaten by a team-mate's deflection.

San Marino tried to get back in the game but Fantini missed the equalizer from close range in the dying minutes.
