Dolton, Williams and Pullman

But Boreham Wood won't be promoted, at least one of Bromley and Chelmsford will. And that, ultimately, is what it boils down to. Don't forget Trott is on a one-year contract. That means he has little incentive to develop young players - even if they do make the grade he might not be around to take the credit.

Probably money, but has RT as a 'rookie manager' got enough contacts.

Just can't understand why players did not seem to want to join us when there was a good chance that they could have been in conf. south next season.

Agree SSS that the time to refresh things was at Xmas ,by being pro-active,as opposed to February and being re-active.

A lesson learned for next season perhaps

You try it sometime and see how quickly your patience runs thin.

The facts are not one of these fringe players have come in and played and let the side down. In fact quite the opposite. Dolton came in with rave reviews then the next game he played was 6 games later with no match inbetween so he was not totally match fit with all hes proud family in the stands at HDP and us the fans slaged him off because he looked Knacked after 25 minutes I sat there with Craig Tucker who said to me he wanted to look at Doltons performance because he had heard rave reviews on the forum, Within 20 minutes all we heard were so called wanabe manager shouting abuse at the poor lad in full earshot of hes family. I wonder why hes looked elsewhere?

Wisker played he's last first team game against Whitstable and came on for provs who wasnt performing that day and we were down 1-0. as the threads at the time said he change the game got stuck in in mid-field and played really well we won 2-1 so prehaps that day your point about playing provs or wisker are wrong.

Smith has played several games starting and in paticular on Saturday was put out of possition on the left had a resonable game but should have stayed on and Trotty should have come off, Wisker came on in the middle of the park with Jay and all of a sudden the team looked more balanced.

Baggley has come in recently and even won MOM so again a good young lad who has done hes job.

So really your points dont ring true the simple facts are you need a balance of seasoned players with a good youth policy these lads need to be played more, even if its for the last 10 mins especially when we are losing and they might just give us the little bit extra to get back the game.

We could also do without Mike F basicly saying the fringe players are not good enough for him or Margate, As per he,s after match interview. What message has that sent out to Smith, Wisker, Baggley and even Donavan. If I was one of those players i'd tell him to stick the club up his [****!!****] and go on to pastures new.

Just my opinion

Excellent post BigTW. We have the same predicament at Angels. Dobla and Trotty must be similar managers. They may argue that fans aren't always aware of what is happening in the background, i.e what is happening in players private lives and injury wise, as it would not be right to make them common knowledge. Therefore , in thier opinions they put out the strongest team available. I'm sure they don't put out a team hoping to lose!

I'm a great believer in having a Youth set up and Reserves. No player should be in a reserve team unless they show the promise of one day being able to attain first team football. It makes financial sense for a club too.

It could be argued that a young player's game will peak and dip and they should not be thrown in too soon. Young players are on public display, to refer to them as 'not good enough' is a confidence destroyer when the term 'not experienced enough yet' or 'not the finished article' could be better used.

Plus with chasing players of the calibre and experience to come into our teams for that promotion push, just think, there are so many other clubs after exactly the same thing. We aren't privy to the efforts are clubs are putting in to try and secure these players, but it does go on.

I read so many other teams forums, and they are all exactly the same after a losing streak.

Obviously Margate are in the position where they can still gain promotion. So, good luck to you. Just please don't be so harsh on the boys, thier time will come. smile

What a great post Jane, agree with both Bigtw and yourself. There must be loads we are not privy too, quite rightly in my opinion. I can forsee in the next season, as has been said, some of these ressies coming through with more experience into the first team as it should be. After all was it not a game or so away some were giving rave reviews of young Bagley, in fact man of the match I remember.

I believe he scored four last Saturday! Appears to be doing very nicely at Port Vale...
