Ruislip Manor 1 Haringey Borough 1

Recommended Posts

We looked a tired side in the last twenty minutes and couldn't hang onto the lead George Mapes gave us on the hour. Haringey had some lively players and were good value for the draw having contributed equally to the game.

Good to meet John "Goody Two Shoes" Bacon again and of course the "Last King of Scotland" himself Mr Aki Achillea who I believe was totally out of character when he shook my hand and indeed the hands of Spider and MB100 and shock horror chatted to us amiably and sociably...ah but then we all had woolly hats on!

Lato - My ears were literally on fire at the following times yesterday, 2.30, 3.50 and 5.00, would you by any chance happen to know why this was.

Er, no I was actually at Winslow United and I wasn't able to concentrate fully on the game as I was in too much pain.

why did you fall over then? or was it the pain at seeing KTFC lose more ground on the leaders?

Finally i can get time to post on this thread, i totally agree with Lato on how the game went - both teams where probing and although Hainrgey hit the bar in the last 2 mins and Ruislip had some attempts earlier i think a draw was a fair Result, It was a real nice day out, getting to the ground extra early indulging in the quality club house and speaking to a few of the locals it was a real treat, my apologies to Lato etc for not being able to meet you although after the game i was asking round for forum members but to no avail! The only thing that put a dampner on the day was the conduct of Ruislip's manager! I dont mind eccentric but a hooligan really shouldnt be allowed to manage a side at this level, he spoiled the whole day with his comments and behaviour - things such as "Haringey are so dirty - they have never been a disciplined side" or the briefing at the end when he was heard saying to his players "i cannot believe you just lost 2 points to a side playing div 1 football next year"

He was an embarressment to Ruislip Manor and their supporters - and you could see his moaning and bitching coming out in the players - which is never a good thing to see.

i could go on but i feel it would spoil what was nice day out with a good match to watch.

Sorry to Lato and the others for this outburst and no doubt you will back your manager to the end, but i feel i have to say something about it as it doesnt look good on your team.

I think this a exactly the right thing to say to your players to buck their ideas up, maybe just not in earshot of the opposition!

I must say that was one of the "tamer" lines used, and although a good prep talk was totally unacceptable in the circumstances - with Haringey warming down just yards away - one feels it was a below the belt shot and was not used a prep talk more of a put down!

3praise sorry we missed you. Incidentally I know our manager reads this forum.

ditto Lato, i was going to put a false mustache on and bring my pink panther doll but i didnt want to steal Clip's limelight!

I do hope your manager reads this forum and see's what i and many of the other observers at the game think of him - a typical West Ham Hooligan i think he even wore a hammers shirt - an old pony one - to the game at Coles park!! he sticks out like a sore thumb at Grovesner Vale.

3praise - Lato is probably telling you in his own unique way to watch your back and not to go down any dark alleys or culdesacs. I do think you are over reacting slightly, it is probably his way of firing up the Ruislip Manor players Barry Fry style, how does Ged get 'our' players focussed and up for a game these days out of interest.

No I'm not saying that at all but as ever rhodes you are putting words into peoples mouths without being in possession of the facts..something you are very good at and despite being told repeatedly insist on doing.

No I was just pointing out to 3praise that Shayne reads the forum so he can structure his comments accordingly if he wishes. Shayne actually comments on many of your posts rhodes as I'm sure you'll be delighted to hear because it will boost your already over inflated ego..but then I think thats one of the reasons you say things like you do. In rhodes world its very much rhodes first and foremost and everything else a distant second esepcially the credibility of KTFC and Clement Temile.

Lato - You're vastly mistaken and I think you know it, I'm a very reserved, modest and unassuming person and will do anything for anyone, a bit like 'the great one'. Clement is more than happy that I handle his affairs, he has had agents in the past who have barely lifted a finger for him and although I am not acting as his agent he kindly said that I am doing a far better job than all of them put together which is most flattering coming from someone held in such high esteem by millions of people. At least I'll be okay for complimentaries when he eventually does become the Nigerian National Coach particularly if we get the 2014 World Cup.

Not surprising he says that given that you are running around free of charge for him doing all the things that he used to pay his agent to do.

I don't believe he has ever paid an agent as they have all been high profile Nigerian individuals who have regarded it as an honour and a privilege to help him as is very much the case with me. I met his previous agent when he first walked through the 'gates of heaven' at Coles Park who is now campaigning for election into the Nigerian Parliament which is why he couldn't continue, I remember he came to a few games and raised his eyebrows at the way 'the great one' was being treated with no red carpet or rose petals in sight, not even a handshake from the Club Chairman.

Or another scenario - he saw where The Great One was "working" and realised that 10% of sod all is sod all and hopped off back to Nigeria to find another way of making money! By the way, he's not the guy with £2M in his back pocket is he?

No he wasn't as it happens although he could have been persuaded to throw some money Haringey's way if 'Sugar' had been bothered to press his flesh although that's not in his nature, he's not a touchy feely person. No the high profile consortium is based in Hertfordsire and would still be interested in a takeover if only 'Sugar' was prepared to do the honourable thing and step aside for the good of the Club, strangely enough I spoke to the guy today on another matter and the £2 million is still burning a hole in his back pocket.
