frustration

Re: the attendance yesterday. I thought it was quite low myself considering our position and that we have had few home ties lately. But looking over other attendances yesterday, we had the third highest in the league, with just games at Chelmsford and Hendon (hosting AFC Wimbledon) beating us. I was most surprised to see Hampton vs Billericay get just 466 considering teh two sides positions in the table. So it seems that we're not the only ones with a dip in attendances, but we should be getting a lot more at HDP, between 700-800 at least imo to support the team.

Frustrating isn't it

We talk about this every so often, and I find it so annoying, They seems to be nothing anyone can do to get the attendance back up

Target 1000 : remember that, the time and effort put in, it seems a pipe dream to get anywhere near that

Absolutely correct Chris. It would help if the team put in decent performance at home. And some consistency in winning at home is a big plus point too.Especially noticable is when we do get a half-decent crowd in the team then go & play badly or lose a game. Not what is required to encourage further visits by first time visitors. They can do it away at AFC with nearly 3000 there so they should be able to put in a performance for a half-decent home crowd. Maybe the players just don't like the home pitch as much as other pitches. Whatever the reason they must start showing those that do come that they are worth watching at home.We can go on from there & possibly reach that target but it has to come from the results on our home patch first.

We can only improve the attendances ourselves if we are promoting a decent team with decent home performances.

Us regulars know what the team are capable of & therefore we go again despite below par performances but the first time visitors need to see it with their own eyes.If they do,then things will begin to improve, there will be more (positive)"word of mouth" too & it will almost certainly make OUR job off the field, much easier in trying to attract others to come along.

There was no announcement about the attendance at the game, but I can guarantee that if I get the attendance number I will announce it and that whether I get it or not, the score has no impact on the announcement. It is that sometimes there are other things that come up and have to be dealt with in the office.

I did predict a crowd of 550-600 with the weather, which was about correct. If we had have won yesterday, and as long as the cold weather has gone, I think we could have added another 100 to the next home match. However as usual, with a few more people there than there has been lately, we are back to square one. So bloody frustrating.
