Saints to unveil new coach

Recommended Posts

Oi! Webbo! You miserable S.o.B.

I read the Chairman's Notes in the matchday programme last night and, for once, I didn't know what he was on about. Having read your three contributions to the board this afternoon, the penny has dropped.

According to the St. Albans Observer, it's Freddie Hyatt. Interesting that I was thinking maybe the return of a bit of a legend (Clarky for example) when instead we get a average player who played for a while on loan here.

Clarky retired from the playing side of football, didn't he? If he's not coaching anyone, he's more likely to be able to coach us, surely. Does anyone at the club have his number? Oh, no, wait, we've just appointed a new coach.

I'll bet we owe them £thousands, all due to the previous 'Harding Reich.'

Just an observation.

On Tuesday evening, we played the dreaded 3-5-2. [it worked a treat. Enfield didn't look like scoring many.]

The midfield was Standen, Challinor, Oakes, Wright and Rogers. Kean was on the bench. Smith is injured.

If that chap what ghost writes the Managers page in the matchday programme and The Observer is right, is Freddie Hyatt going to be player coach? If so, might we be treated to an experimental 1-8-1 formation before the season is out?

Not the same person?

NOT THE SAME PERSON?

Well there are remarkable similarities between the Managers page in the matchday programme, and the press coverage in the Herts Advertiser and The Observer. Whoever it is that's impersonating Cookie should not make any comments about anything until the Club issue 'official confirmation'. Just like the web-site doesn't.

Cue Webbo and Rob......

I have it on rather shaky authority (no, not webbo) that our new coach could be wheeled into action (ho, ho) as early as tomorrow, so watch this space, the bench, the tunnel, or wherever.

Stortford seem gutted to lose him so he just could be the man to kick-start (is that another pun?) our season again. I sincerely hope so.

When will he learn eh?

It's the only option, surely. The wing-backs drop in when we're defending, but push on when we attack.

Have you learned nothing from my contributions. Just like TV Tel & his immortal "tips". And we all know what happened to him - exiled to Leeds of all places.

Trust me, there is no future in 4-4-2.
