OK Martin, let's look at what you have written this time:-

I think you had your own little debate the other day about Mal's status at the club and he certainly seems to come on here along with Windsor Sec stating the position of "your club" although never two certain if it is in an official capacity.

It has always been known that I am NOT in any way, shape or form a member of the Windsor & Eton FC Board of Directors or any other offcial off the club. I am their kit man and webmaster and reserve team secretary. Nothing more, mothing less.

Our club in an official capacity is represented by one man. Frankly, the club is the fans and I want to know answers to reasonable questions.

Since when did the Slough Town Supporters take over running the club?

As a member of the Supporters Trust board I was asked by Roy to attend a meeting with Peter Simpson about the groundshare agreement for this season. I listened to what was said, what was offered and what was promised. At this stage of the season I feel perfectly able to comment on my interpretation of that meeting and to now ask questions to clarify some issues.

The problem here is that you are not commenting on that meeting or what was offered. All you are doing is spouting off about how bad the pitch is and how it is costing you games. My question to you on this is why are your opponents having no problems winning on the pitch and why can't you win on 'good' away pitches?

I'd ask Roy but he does not employ the groundsman and is probably none the wiser. If the question is too hard to answer, say so and I'll read between the lines.

Roy is well aware of the current situation as I was the one to pass the message onto him from Peter Simpson.

I will not go into the details as I am not in posession of all the facts, and probably never will be, but Martin Chivers has left Windsor and alternative arrangements have been made.

Ok Mal lets have a look at what you've said:

1) If you have no official capacity beyond your myraid of roles perhaps it would be an idea if a) you shut up once in while B) did not rise to the bait that those of us on fishing expediations cast and c) did not make statements about whether or not our games were on

2) Where in my post did I say the Trust had taken over the club? Roy is the one man who is running this club as we all know. I said "Frankly the club is the fans." Sorry if this is not too clear for your tiny little brain but what I meant was Slough as a football club has one asset - its supporters. Therefore we need to keep that asset and there is a huge amount of concern amongst the fans about the state of the pitch and where we will be playing next season.

3) I have referred to various promises made by Peter Simpson at the meeting throughout this thread and elsewhere on the forum. One of them being that Windsor would be employing a full time groundsman. I have never once blamed any of our results on the pitch. It never helps (but it is oobviously the same for both teams and we should be getting used to it) but the reason we lose games is because the other teams are better than us. I am fully prepared to accept that as are the vast majoirty of the supporters.

4) You have no official capacity but pass on messages to Roy from Peter Simpson. Weird.

Ok, so Mr I have no official capacity, but I have lots of different roles at the mighty Windsor and therefore am a lot more important than you, what alternative arrangements have been made?

Because on Saturday the alternative arrangements looked an awful lot like Chris Sliski a bucket of sand and a garden fork.

Fine, next time one of Slough Town supporters are asking what condition the pitch is in I will say nothing and then wait and read with delight all the complaints when no one posts anything other than 'well it's raining outside my window so I doubt it's on'.

Sorry if I mis-understood what you were saying but why keep going on about the state of the pitch when the people who run Windsor & Eton are well aware of the problem.

Try re-reading your posts in this thread and you will find there is no mention of the 'promises' made by Peter in the meeting. You mention that you were at the meeting but not what was promised. As for previous threads, I am not saying that you haven't mentioned what was said in the meetings, I actually said 'the problem here', my point is why keep on about it when the club are well aware of the problem. Sorry if this is not too clear for your tiny little brain.

Not weird at all. Have you never been asked to pass a message onto someone? I happened to be at the ground on Saturday morning when Peter turned up and as he wasn't sure he would make it back for the game he asked me to let Roy know what was going on as Roy had not returned his calls.

For the time being a local contract company has been asked to take care of things and they came down Friday to get the pitch ready and did what they could but as the pitch was still very soft they were unable to get any machinery on the pitch without making it worse.

As for people like Chris Sliski and others, who I don't their names, tools were made available should the referee decide that any areas need tending. It was unfortunate that it was too short notice for the contract company to arrange any weekend staff. The same had to be done for Windsor's game the week before where we had the likes of Peter Simpson on the pitch doing the work.

Mal,

The one promise I referred to in my second post on this thread was "full time groundsman." I'll admit I got his former club wrong and I did not expressly state "as promised by Peter Simpson" but then I did not want to go into all the gory details.

Would it not have been easier to just respond to my original question with the penultimate paragraph of your last post telling us that a local contract company has come in but could not arrange weekend cover? That would then explain why Slough supporters with no official capacity at the club were tending to the Windsor pitch.

That's quite rich coming from you. You've been happy to pass comment on our financial situation on a number of occasions in the past few seasons on this forum without ever really knowing what's actually going on behind the scenes (between the two clubs).

Why are the contractors being used to carry out the maintenance using mechanical means to pull the roller - any fool can see that a light roller pulled by hand is all that is needed to flaten the pitch! The pitch is soft enough to only require a light roll to put it back into shape!

Putting any tractor on that pitch will only cause futher damage.

Looks like windsor have picked the wrong soloution again!!!

Martin - Keep on baiting the hook - Mal bites every time!!!!!

I Had a fork and a shovel

to do what the referee asked ! we had no wheel barrow and no real sand to do the pitch ... an offer of wheel barrow was given at 2-45 what use was that ! the buckets to carry the sand came from the supporters hut !

the few slough supporters spent over two hours on the pitch trying to do what we were asked to do by the ref !

Its was hell ! i was like trying to bale out the titanic with a thimble !

Just want to say congratulations to Windsor for finding a roller - the pitch looked ten times better last night.
