tonbridge game

their defence, and especially the keeper, seemed a bit shaky too (too many completely needless corners conceded in particular!), if we had some more luck a couple of things in the tonbridge penalty area couldve gone our way. against a better team they couldve been destroyed playing like that at the back.

i think that the MOM award should go to the whole team, moleski's goal was pure brilliance, but everyone played an equal part in what was actually a great performance for the team we have, despite the final score.

excellent noise from behind the goal, even after the tonbridge 3rd goal.

Thought it was a good game, we scored some cracking goals, and I was right in line for our second, in all the way from boot to goal.

I agree with ARAS, my MOM goes to the whole team again. Everyone battled hard and played their socks off today, on a pitch that is in an absolutely shocking state. I've heard that Birmingham are interested in it at the end of the season, or is it the other way round ?

If the match against Walton is on, on Tuesday, and we play like that again, we have a very good chance of beating them.

Come on Rebels

Crappy first half on the worst pitch ever. Why they can't friggin roll the pitch to at least make it flat is beyond me.

They could have been out of sight in the first half. Great goal by Moleski and a brave battling performance in the second.

Special mention to Donovan gets better in every game he plays in my opinion.

Anyone know if these two new boys on the bench are permanent signings?

Chris, if you had taken a look at the pitch where the players come out you would have noticed that they had attempted to roll the pitch but the surface was still too wet so all they ended up with is a dragged streak.

Mal, you really are a patronising *@**. We've all had the misfortune of looking at that pitch over the course of the season. If whatever you are using to roll the pitch causes that much damage you clearly have not got the right tools for the job. Whatever happened to your full time groundsman that came from QPR?

Martin, we never had a groundsman from QPR, he was from Fulham.

How can you expect to pull a roller over the pitch if it is too wet to get machinery on it. As Gary said it was still very soft under foot but, as there has now been a few days of dry weather then there is a very good possibility that someone will be able to roll the pitch.

You seem to make out that you know so much about pitch maintenance, why don't you offer you services to help rather than jumping on Staines Rebels bandwagon and slatingthe pitch every week.

Ooops I put the wrong West London club. Shock horror.

I know nothing about pitch maintenance but I know for example that they have machinery that allows very wet pitches to be rolled and to remove excess moisture. Doubtless they are very expensive and I can understand why Windsor don't have them.

I also have no intention of devoting any of my time to help maintain your ground or pitch. What I do know is when I arrived at the ground an hour or so before kick off there were several Slough supporters forking the pitch and laying sand. We pay for the pitch so in my mind that is a job that should be carried out by the Windsor groundsman. So where is he?

And why is it that everyone from Windsor gets so defensive about the pitch? Why not just come here and say:

"We are sorry. The pitch is crap. Our plans have backfired and we have been hit by the wet winter. We know what we promised and we haven't been able to live up to it. Sorry."

If I actually heard that rather than the defensive, patronising and self righteous comments of you and your ilk I might actually feel less riled by the whole situation.

Martin, if you read the majority of the posts from Windsor_sec and myself we have, on numerous occasions, said that things have not gone to plan and that it has been a very wet winter.

What we are getting defensive over is people like you keep coming in here and saying how crap the pitch is. We know it's crap, there is no need to keep bringing up what is staring us in the face.

Accept it. Things haven't gone as planned. Both teams have had to play on it and get on with it. If there are any problems with any agreement between the two clubs I am sure that Roy and Peter will sit down and discuss them.

Sorry really does seem to be the hardest word.

Why get defensive about it if you know what we are saying is true? Saturday was the first time we had played on it in three weeks and I think all that has been said can be filed as "fair comment."

So for the third time, where is the Windsor groundsman? Has he been sacked or has he resigned? Or is he Chevy Chase? Who is looking after the pitch in his absence?

I mean the status of the groundsman not the state of the pitch which i think we're all agreed on is shocking. However us fans moaning about it isn't going to change how the clubs deal with it that much.

I think you had your own little debate the other day about Mal's status at the club and he certainly seems to come on here along with Windsor Sec stating the position of "your club" although never two certain if it is in an official capacity.

Our club in an official capacity is represented by one man. Frankly, the club is the fans and I want to know answers to reasonable questions. As a member of the Supporters Trust board I was asked by Roy to attend a meeting with Peter Simpson about the groundshare agreement for this season. I listened to what was said, what was offered and what was promised. At this stage of the season I feel perfectly able to comment on my interpretation of that meeting and to now ask questions to clarify some issues. I'd ask Roy but he does not employ the groundsman and is probably none the wiser. If the question is too hard to answer, say so and I'll read between the lines.
