Strictly Come Salsa with STFC

Yup folks, the information you've all been clamouring for is finally here...

As attendees at tomorrow's game - providing the game's on - will hopefully find out via the leaflets which should be available to hand round (according to Wilko) - March 26th sees the launch of Two Left Feet - in association with Slough Town FC.

To be held at the West Wing, Stoke Road, Slough, SL2 5AY from 7.30pm onwards, a free-to-attend social evening will take place to raise awareness of this very worthwhile dance society - designed to encourage all people of all ages and from all backgrounds to come together and socialise while learning a few moves!

From the company's press release:

Two Left Feet is a voluntary group which offers beginners dance lessons for adults in Slough. We were set up in 2006 and have secured funding from the National Lottery, Slough Borough Council and Creative Academy. Two left Feet are also proud to be sponsored by Dancia International.

Two Left Feet are committed to introducing dance in a new, exciting and fun way. We welcome people from all backgrounds and with all abilities and want to appeal to those who ‘dream’ of dancing but because they believe they have ‘two left feet’ may not have had the confidence. We welcome people from all backgrounds including people with physical and learning disabilities.

**THIS IS THE FUN BIT**

See special guests from Slough Town Football club and the men’s ladies team fight it out to be crowned winners of Slough’s very own ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ 2007.

Slough Town Football teams are invited to be our guests of honour for this night. The players can participate in the dance class and then after the class, they will be paired up with an experienced salsa dancer. Their partner will take them off to learn a few moves, and then later in the evening the partners will perform their moves for the audience. This is for fun only – the more mistakes and ‘two left footed’ players are the better (as long as they don’t have two left feet on the pitch!) The audience will vote for the winners by clapping and cheering.

This is a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate community participation and to promote Slough Town FC and Two Left Feet.

** END OF PRESS RELEASE **

As I say, flyers should be available tomorrow with more information on them and we're hoping to get at least 5 members from each team down there for the night - and it would be great if some of you were free to come and watch and support us!

Steve Hale definitely is, along with a few others. I think Moleski and Miller were going to be involved.

Steve Hale is on Radio Berkshire at 12.45 (I think) advertising the event today.

Sadly, don't think I will be there due to an ever increasing amount of work to do, but Emma might be popping along depending on how she is feeling.

Dogging? Sorry. I may also have to miss out although I may try and pop along later if I can. Any idea what sort of time it will run to?

sorry - massively busy day today -

as far as i know it starts at 7.30pm and the slough side of things will go on for an hour/an hour and a half - then they have further dance classes for those who know what they're doing...

As for numbers, i hope to be able to get around 6 girls down from the ladies team and i think Wilko said he'd be bringing down 6 or 7.

How was Steve's piece on BBC Berkshire? did anyone hear it?

Unfortunately I think that clashes with something else I've got to do, I'll look forward to hearing about it Tuesday and seeing the coverage in the press.

Sadly no. I foolishly left my coat in Chippenham over the weekend and my step-brother has kindly offered to meet me half way to return it. A dim thing to do given it had my work keys and swipe card in the inside pocket. Ho hum
