'A blessing in disguise'

I have a feeling in my water that you lucky local people are going to see a great display from the 'Gate tomorrow.

I don't for one minute think we will romp home, but think despite the 'adversity' we may well just scrape through.

Through accident rather than design, things will have to change tomorrow.

I think teams have worked out our system and we have become predictable.

Despite the predictability, we were good enough to win most games, but we have seen recently, that if we have a slightly weaker team, we are not quite good enough.

The thing is, if you don't change anything, you can't realistically expect anything different to happen.

I think we have become a bit stale, and without new players to refresh things ,as i say, it is all a bit predictable.

Tomorrow, things have got to be different.

Tomorrow, anything could happen, but if nothing else, we will be a bit unpredictable in the way we play.

I just think that while the quality may not be quite so good, the variation that will be on show tomorrow, will be both exciting and in the end, narrowly see the 'Gate home.

Also, because its backs against the wall time, whoever plays out of the likes of Bagley, Whisker,Smith and Dolton will get the utmost support from the fans tomorrow for the whole 96 minutes and all put in sterling performances.

Up the 'Gate

I think you have rosy coloured glasses.

When do Wisker, Dolton. Smith or Bagley get a look in.

Answer only when the core of the 14 London players in the squad cannot play.

Rather than put Wisker in, the whole of the team gets shifted around and the same applies to Bagley who did not start the last game.Smith only plays when he becomes the only defender left to put in.Saunders and Standen have to play everywhere to cover before the likes of these players get a sniff. Does not look bright in the future for these players. Looks like Dolton is already off.The others will struggle even to get a contract next year especially if make cONFERENCE sOUTH

And of course, you can only play 11 players at anyone time !!

I think our younger players need to show some patience;and you have to say that Robinson and Dolton did not grab their albeit limited chances to make a permanent impression;Bagley and possibly Wisker probably have further chances, and Smith will probably make it.

None of the younger players have played that well to make it impossible to leave them out;but it is a 'first season' ;and they need patience; whereby next season they will all the better for the experience and could cement places in the team;especially if we are confined to the Ryman.

You right MM they do need patience and I no that atleast Smith Wisker and Baggley are in for the long haul. Robinson did'nt want to wait for he's chance he just wanted to play football every week for anybody possible. Dolton looks like work commitments have caused the lad to leave but thats understandable work comes first. Wisker is in for the long haul and with due respect Wenger you only come on hear with a presumption that he won't be around next year when infact I know that he will.

Trotty will always play the players on high wages even if he wants to get rid because they need to be in the shop window before anyones interested. He also has to justify paying their wages to the board so why would you leave a £300 to 400 a week player on the bench and play a £100 a week player in he's place its a no win situation.

Wisker, Smith and baggley will be there next season as they are well repected by both RT and MF and with experience both I beliieve will become good quality players in the near future.

Until then let the Manager and the coach do their jobs and get behind them

Have to agree with you there.

Players should be played to get the most out of them & not be made to fill in,in other positions, positions that are strange to them.

Where there are suspensions etc youngsters who generally play in those vacant positions in the reserves should be allowed to take their chances.

Those experienced players who had been moved into alien positions to start with are not giving us of their best then.We have to & should be extracting the very best of each player. We didnt get that today(i.e Jacko & Skinns).

Unless the player offered to play there himself then this was an almighty clanger in my view by those who made the decisions in the first place.

I feel terrible about my post at start of this thread.

I thought the inevitable 'changes' would create a positive feeling and something different.

I guess those who were there were served with something different, but when i made my original post, i did not for one minute expect a manager at this level to play a very good left back at left wing;when Oates has played at right wing back before and can do ok there, meaning that Smith can play where he is better able

It has to be said that imo on their own, neither JJ or Skinner are that brilliant, but together they form a formidable partnership on the left.

There was enough disruption already, why create more havoc

I regret my early post aswell after Mike Flannagans after match interview i dont believe one if any of the mentioned fringe players will be hear next season.

I believe one big fvck up happened yesterday with both team seletion and mike basicly saying the first eleven are strong enough but the rest just can't cut it.

I know some of these players listened to that interview and were gutted at what they heard.

To be fair to MF , he does not actually criticise the 'fringe players in anyway.

Indeed, he positivelty praises Bagley.

The nearest MF gets to criticism is to say 'we have'nt got a strong squad'. In fairness ,thats not a criticism of the fringe players.

Having said that, the reason we have not got a strong squad is that MF and RT have failed to refrsh the sqaud with a couple of new faces.

Why is it that a team who one month ago had a very good chance of auto promotion to conference south, could not secure the services of one or two additional players ?

The time we needed to do it, was in January when things were ok, not when things turn against you-the wise and experienced managers will be pro-active -not active.

Indeed, are we not without a trainer so that it would release funds to secure a player .

I don't think MF was directly critical of the fringe players, and any implication of that only puts RT and MF management under scrutiny-it is their 'not strong squad' after-all.

Its their job to get something from the squad they have by choosing the right formation.

Its their job not to sit back and wait to the likes of SM and LP are available again;and almost treat it as a bonus if we get anything while they are out

And although not there, i have to agree that tactics and formation yesterday as reported; do seem to be something dreamed up in never never land.

Bigtw I have just listened to MF interview for the first time and do not think he is giving no hope to Louis, Ken and Danny. I know in the conversations I have had with RT that he thinks a lot of Ken as a forward and Louis as a future centre half (his true position),. However, I must admit that I have not talked to him about Danny as he has a terrible time with injuries this season but, the way he has used him (Whitstable, Carshalton and yesterday) shows that he does have faith in him and, he (most importantley) has not let the side down when he has come on.

Please keep the faith.
