I believe that there are still shares available, they are 25p shares at par. There is no minimum that I am aware of, but the application has to be processed so there is a cost to the club if the application is very small.

If you want an application form ring Margaret or Rob on 01474 533796

I have a vague recollection of the shares being offered not so long ago - could anybody tell me what exactly the benefit to the individual who buys them is (apart from actively helping the club's development.)? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

The benefit is that you then own some shares.
Just like if you buy a TV - you then own a TV.

You want something extra?

Dear chap, the benefits are ,you can mount the share certificate in a purple velvet frame , and hang it on yer wall.

It becomes the centre piece of the room, and attracts envious and admiring glances from all who see it.

well thats what Wobbly claims anyway, but I just think that he is being a pretentious twat.

PS. Of course the other benefit is, you are helping out the club financially , as they try to compete with the big boys in the uneven playing field of the conference.

"Investing in Shares ...It makes sense"

Do you think thats what all those people who invested small fortunes at the height of the market, are saying now that the market is almost 50% down ??

Its generally said that shares make sense in the medium to long term & I'm not sure that would be the first & foremost aim for football clubs - most of their money is needed for day to day expenses, etc.
