Away Coach Travel to York City - March 17

Recommended Posts

The away coach to York City is starting to fill up fairly quickly so if you would like a seat, either call Ian Bangs on 07733 381874/01727 812557, Peter Knock on 01727 847484, e-mail supportersclub@sacfc.co.uk or make your booking at the Club Shop at the Southport or Dagenham games. The more support, the better so let's get behind the team and bring back 3 points.

You can be assured of a warm welcome at our place. Many away-supporters report that their trip to York City FC proves to be one of their season’s highlights based on the matchday experience. If you haven’t been to the city before it’s certainly worth making the trip.

Like St Albans and Norwich, we also claim to have more pubs per square mile than any other place in Britain so you’re spoilt for choice as far as your pre-match pint is concerned. My personal recommendation is a pint of Terrier which is available in the Supporters Club Bar where all visiting supporters are made very welcome.

Looking forward to seeing you all on 17th. In the meantime, good luck v Southport and Rushden & Diamonds. I trust The Minstermen will do the Saints a favour by beating Cambridge United away on Tuesday night.

I've always used the 'Akash' in North Street which has been there for years. Not too far from KKC either. I like it but I have it on good authority that the best place is 'Tandoori Nights' which has the benefit of being only half a mile from our ground. Here's a mini review of the establishment:

You’ll get there in four but it’s worth building more time into your journey if you can. IMO the best route up is via the A1M, A14 and A1. Like St Albans, parking in York is a nightmare! Your best bet is to find street parking in Clifton which is about 25 minutes walk from the ground. This will also enable you to get a quick getaway after the match. If you can hang around it’s worth it. St Albans may be nice but Yorkshire’s County Town really is something else!

Good luck v Dagenham & Redbridge - we’ll try and do you a favour tonight by beating Cambridge United!

See you on Saturday!

Make sure you take in the Minster if you get a chance, Laz.

I would say York was definitely the best away trip we did in the Conference. Went on both occasions and it's a quality day out. Only regret was not getting there earlier to appreciate all the sights but some quality pubs there and not too far from the ground.

Hopefully the weather will be dry on Saturday as the away end is completely open and has no covering.

Yellow, I have a top-notch cathedral just a short walk from where I live! I'll take a peek at theirs but I suspect it won't be as good.

I expect it will be my best day out too. There have been some long trips in this division but most of the places are complete dives! Exeter wasn't bad but it was midweek.

If the miracle happens and we stay up, Torquay should make a good trip next season.

How was Great Wakering? (-:

I think you are confusing me with the Urchin ones but yes we do have Great Wakering at home at the weekend. I went to Aveley on Saturday and it was a craphole.

I'm sure St Albans cathedral is very impressive but doubt it can compete with the Minster although I'll leave you to decide grin

If you stay up I'm sure you'll have the pleasure of visiting the likes of Droylsden and Boston as well laugh
