Ticket Price Reductions In League Football

Is this a good or bad thing for non-league clubs?

One of the big selling points a club at this level can use is the fact it is cheaper to bring the family to enjoy some live football. If the ticket prices in league football keep coming down, surely the majority of clubs at this level will struggle to keep in the floating fans and it will make life even harder to balance the books?

tis an interesting point - particularly given that it wasn't so very long ago we had a disillusioned sheffield utd fan who was considering joining our ranks because the premiership tickets were overpriced...

thing is - i know lots of local lads who would rather watch premier clubs on tv than go to see their local team - except for when we've had cup runs...

Its a bad thing but I can understand why they are doing. The problem is the blanket television coverage it is providing a disincentive to attend "live" games. The FA has to do something to help the smaller clubs if they want to keep grassroots football alive.

I think it can only be a good thing - encouraging people to go to football will help all clubs, as people get in the habit of watching football rather than the million other leisure pursuits now on offer.

Loads of people still support a league club and a non league club, but half the problem now is saturation TV coverage. Slough v East Thurrock on a cold feb night or Champions league on the tele?

We are also offering such a different footballing experience that many people who go to top level football find refreshing. We've just got to do our utmost to attract these people, even if its only occassionally. Winning the odd game would help, but still great to see clubs like the Hammers under 10's bringing their players along. Let's give them a load of complimentaries for one of the last Saturday 'home' games.

Personally, i'm more worried about Reading's climb up the premiership and any mussling in they do not just on our support but also coaching opportunities.
