The pitch looked as if it took quite a battering.

Plenty of rain coming tonight but the last I heard was that it would clear up tomorrow morning and then remain dry for Saturday. Mind you, these forecasts change so hopefully the rain will miss us altogether. Bet we still have a hosepipe ban this Summer.

Sid - no hosepipe ban was in place this year - it was only in the Thames area, and we are in the Anglia area - reservoirs are almost full at Abberton and Hanningfield.

I stand corrected sir. However, I said it with a large dollop of irony. We have had all this rain and with so many leaky pipes the powers that be will be crying "drought" by the Summer.
