But luckily we are British and despite our culture being dumbed down by the influence of the yanks we do have a higher standard of manners to maintain and should not resort to the ambulance chasing profession of solicitors

What looks good around a solicitors (and Sanderson's) neck......a pit bull terrier drawing blood.

GAME OFF! YES!! But I believe it was a close call as to whether the game went ahead or not. Local referee in attendance & judging by his body language & his long look at the pitch I reckon he was umming & arrring about the condition of the pitch & in two minds at one point. It certainly wasn't an immediate postponement. A good sign if nothing else.

About 14 supporters attending the inspection.(nearly more than a Leyton home match attendance (l.o.l.).

The local referee was seen talking (I presume)to the match referee(at length) after his inspection.

The central part of the pitch was the problem. I am amazed however that this referee didn't walk the pitch with studded boots rather than flat soled shoes. Might have had a different outcome if he had. He SHOULD have inspected with studs in my view!

The pitch looked fine, though obviously the centre circle must have been worse but apart from that area of the pitch it all seemed playable.

Anyway it was not to be, but with a good turn of fortune with the weather leading up to Saturday I feel there is every chance of a game on Saturday.

I must just add that Ray was still squeegying any surplus water off the pitch right up to the inspection & by gum he is working like mad to get us a game.Honestly there wasn't much water left on the surface at inspection time.

Quite why no sand wasn't laid on those central areas is beyond me.That too might have made a difference to the referees decision.

Its looking much better though.Tonight we nearly had a game I reckon.

Really annoyed that the game had to be called off tonight, we really could do with a home game and the Champions League just doesn't have the same feeling!

Anyway, in tonight's Ryman Premier games that are on:

HT AFC Wimbledon 2 0 Carshalton Athletic

HT Harrow Borough 1 0 Heybridge Swifts
