On the Horns Mill side of the bridge the river has burst it's banks. At our side it's almost over, and there are lots of mini lakes on the pitch

That sounds bad, I am sure our game will be off tonight, even though its currently not raining, I think last nights rain may have put paid to tonights game.

Nothing wrong with that pitch that a boat wont sort out LOL.

 

So is the river on that far side of the ground (opposite the main stand) and if it bursts its banks then does it come into the ground? must be a heck of a lot of a water, because the wall is quite high there I thought

It doesn't actually come OVER the wall, but finds it's way through gaps in gates etc. Plus when the water table gets really high as at the moment, it seeps up from below.

If it burst its banks (last time 2000) then the water comes in through the gates! This time, the river has gone over the bank about 100 yards upstream, so the flooding is not so bad. If it rains again in the next 12 hours, there's every chance of a proper flood!

I did think you needed a trim when we met a fornight ago, you should have told me in advance of the match and I would have brought my scissors and clippers with me, and we could have cut it in the boardroom
