The When Saturday Comes Article on Toto Tammuz

Recommended Posts

Okay all, my copy of WSC arrived today and I should like to point out that kentish Town FC are not all over it like a rash. there is an article on Toto Tammuz in which Clement Temile gets featured and presumably he got spoken to as he is quoted. It doesn't really tell us nothing we didn't already know but here are a few of the highlights

Clement Temile stayed in Israel after his visa expired.

The reason he left Toto in Israel was so the boy could be educated.

Toto refused to extend his temporary resident permit and the Israeli Interior Office (IIO) refused to fast track his case saying he should go through the legal channels like anyone else - a process that can take three years.

it is difficult for non Jewish people to get Israeli citizenship and the IIO don't want to make a precedent in this case seemingly 'annoyed by Toto's media-savvy tactics'

Toto is yet to respond but says he will do anything to play v England. (but not extend his temporary permit)

Kentish Town are " only 10 divisions below the Premiership"

Clement Temile hasn't spoken to his son for 15 months and the two are criticisnf each other in the Israeli media. Toto clims his father didn't bother to stay in touch until he became famous while Clement accused Orit Tammuz (thw woman who brought up Toto after he was left in Israel by his biological parents) of putting a spell on his estranged son.

The article finishs with this quote from Clement Temile

"Toto should be ashamed talking about his parents that way, but I believe that God will bring him to me. He is much better than Yakubu Aiyegbeni and he will come to play in England"

There is also a blurred photo of Toto in Beitar Jerusalem colours but no picture of Clement Temile.

Lato - I think you are totally missing the point here, the enormity of Kentish Town Football Club even being mentioned in When Saturday Comes (WSC) magazine, and given the time of day, should not be under estimated.

What time of day was the article written, clip Rods?

They probably meant to say that they are in the equivalent of the 10th Division.

I'm only quoting the article...I think they were inferring that the club CLement Temile coachs at is surprisingly low.

And I can recall many other SSML clubs and indeed non-league clubsbeing mentioned in WSC but I don't recall the secretary of those clubs making a song and dance about it and saying we all have to subscribe to the magazine. Oh but yes they aren't pulicity seekers like you are they clip rods.

Folks - Just so you instantaneously spot the April version of When Saturday Comes (WSC) magazine in the shops I attach a link to the attractive front cover. For the last time Lato I am not a publicity seeker however I don't see why I shouldn't shout about Kentish Town being featured in the magazine from the rooftops, I am naturally proud about it and feel that it's just the tip of the ice berg, Four Two Four is possibly next on the agenda:

clip Rods, do you actually know the difference between being "featured" in a magazine and having your name mentioned in passing?

I believe that Lato has misled us with the above in terms of the extent Kentish Town were mentioned in the article, there must have been more than just that as otherwise the sentence wouldn't make any sense. 'The great one' must have allaborated saying something on the lines that he is currently at a progressive and ambitious non league Club that are punching way above it's weight and 'only 10 divisions below the Premiership'. As some of you have already pointed out this should have read nine and not ten and I may well write to the magazine asking them to put that error right in the May issue.

I don't know who's error it was but I suppose it's an easy mistake to make, 'the great one' may well have said ten meaning nine but we won't hold that against him, it will hopefully be just eight next season anyway.

You mean you haven't read it yet? That must mean you are commenting on hearsay yet again.

I'm surprised you weren't waiting patiently outside your local newsagent at 5am to get your copy of WSC so that you could rush home and pin the article on your bedroom wall (or ceiling!).

By then it will be correct, as you will have been relegated to Div 2 because you don't have a ground suitable for Div 1

Chaps - I think these comments might just be sour grapes don't you due to us being featured in a cult and hugely popular national football magazine, why not give credit where credit is due and simply say 'well done', 'good article', 'nice one', 'congratulations' or words along those line, don't always automatically look to the negative where our Club is concerned as it's not fair.

I'll ask the question again, clip Rods. Do you know the difference between being "featured" in a magazine and just being mentioned in passing?

Oh dear another apology is imminent I feel clip rods. Kentish Town Fc get mentioned once in the page article when it says and I quote "Clement Temile, coach of Kentish Town Fc, from the Spartan South Midlands league (only ten divisions (sic) from the Premiership) hasn't spoken to his son in 15 months and the two have been criticising each other in the Israeli media"

Unlike you I actually read the artcile but then I don't live in Rhodesworld (top site Horace!) and can only be thankful for that.

So I wasn't misleading you all at all was I but I don't expect you notice that rhodes will you you twisted sycophant!

So a retraction would be nice but I don't expect one.

Rhodes i dont remember you saying "'well done', 'good article', 'nice one', 'congratulations' or words along those line," when Haringey Borough was on Sky Sports, you just said "I have a player who works there so, we will be on there too" so please dont expect anyone to give you PRAISE when you dont give it out!

3praise - Of course I give people and Club's credit where credit is due, I was more than complimentary at Haringey, and 'the great' Tommy Catania's wonder goal, being featured on Soccer AM. What I did enquire about was how you would be using that great National exposure to promote the Club, and in particular Tommy, to the World media and strike whilst the iron is hot, it is typical of 'Sugar' to just sit on the fence Trevor Brooking style and let great opportunities such as this pass him by although some of us know full well that this is intentional and he doesn't want the Club in the limelight.
