The wind and rain did play a big part, but I still thought it was a pretty poor showing. Hendon took advantage in the first half but their second goal was quite well worked along the deck. And then even with the wind against them in the second half, Hendon still managed to force Dennison into two fine saves and could have extended their lead, while we created nothing.

Terrible conditions, our players didn't seem to adapt to the wind (sorry, Gale).

Wilko was an animal when he came on, I haven't seen him tackle like that in a while. The funny thing was that he got pulled up on his cleanest tackle.

I also thought that Dennison had a good game considereing the conditions, and made some great saves.

It was pretty poor but the conditions did not help. The times when we look at our best are on "decent" playing surfaces where we can pop the ball around a little bit between the likes of Moleski, Davies and Miller. In fairness to Hendon their pitch was excellent and full credit must go to the groundsman who must have put in plenty of hours to get that game on. Unfortunately after all that effort it blew a gale and the ball could never really stay on the floor. We could only rely on hoofing the ball forward and it was virtually impossible for MPD and Miller to hold the ball up against three centre halfs.
