its hard to judge opposition players when alot of teams we've only played once but sixy had 3 good games against us out of the four and Turners a very good captain for us this year

I think Glen Golby is the most over rated player i have ever seen. He is slow and has massive ears which blocks the centre half next to him view

Apologies for diversifying away from the 'defenders' subject matter, but at our level it is hard, from a fans' perspective, to judge the ability of the opposition, due to mainly seeing most of them twice only during a season.

As MCP said, we have played 'The Concs' (hi Healsey), four times so a fair assessment can be made on some of their players.

Plus, the two lads who left Stansted (Begg and Thomas?) have acquitted themselves well at a higher level, also messrs Easterford and Carr are perennial top performers, as was the boy Ansell and the returning Warren Bennett.

Danny Heale has looked good the couple of times I have seen him play (god that hurts me to say that) and Trenks looked commanding (gulp) too.

As for the others, you can only go by results. With Brentwood fast approaching Romford Vets status, with six or so of our ex-players there, most always did a good job for us and some. Plus the fact they are flying at the top must speak volumes.

I did like Sixy, only for the fact he gifted us a few goals this season, but got my doubts about Kaiser though..he runs like a Hermit crab, is in need of some of Coachy's lasagne and wears a fleece...badly.

My ears are my secret weapon coz they are so big they usually block most of the shots at goal.
