The concensus was that we didn't play too well against Kiddies.I couldn't possibly comment as I wasn't there, but in fairness, it didn't Sound that bad on the internet.

This is an addition to reportedly indifferent displays against Northwich and Woking.

What can LD do to get us playing as we had earlier this year, with free flowing, high tempo football, on the ground using wingers feeding predatory strikers?

It is said that a good side can play badly and keep winning, to some extent that it true, but you can only keep up that level of luck for so long.

We HAVE been lucky this season, it may or may not run out, let us play so that we do not have to rely on it.

Do we keep 3-5-2 which served us so well earlier, but has it's limitations, particularly against teams with pacy forwards and 2 wingers, and does seem to have been sussed out a bit by opposition, or do we change it?

Or do we change the personnel a little to shake the team out of it's complacency and lethargy.

Or do we do both?

This is another must win game, especially with those around us hoping to keeping in the hunt and keep the pressure on.

It's really close for play off places, I just can't help feeling at least 1 or 2 teams will blow out in the next couplee of weeks.

That is why it so important for us to get back on track and start playing good football again.

Try this line up

Mott

Ricketts McCarthy R Smith Opinel

Ledgister Long Debolla Keeling

McDonald Sodje

Subs Cronin Slatter Coleman Moore Varney

PS I have gone for young Sam in goal because Lance hasn't quite been the same since his injury, kicking, positional play and distribution haven't been to his own excemplary standard, and

Perhaps Lance isn't 100% recovered yet?

Sam hasn't let us down when needed, he is keen, brave and has good distribution skills, give him a chance.

Other than Cronin I quite like your team C.G. but we will never know if it is any good as it won't ever get picked.

If Cronin is fit he will play, if he isn't fit he won't be on the bench.

Quinn has played every game he has been available for and is rarely substituted, there is no way he will dropped from the starting eleven never mind the sixteen. Unless he is injured/suspended of course.

As for your bench, if any of the back four get injured, or pick up an early yellow and look like getting a second, or indeed get a red we would be totally f*ck*d.

It's seemed pretty windy from the disturbed sleep I had last night ( that's wind on the outside of the house, not inside !!!) and the Stonebridge Road ground doesn't appear to be the most robust structure in the world!! So hopefully no damage done.......

Cheers,

I had to get the first train out of Gravesend this morning at half four and the wind was blowing me along the road as it was so strong.

Thought the game maybe in doubt but it seems to have cleared up some here in London.

They shouldn't have to. Ledgister's inexperience as a full back led to Oxford's goal and their other best chance of the game. Keeling was often absent at full back on Saturday and this contributed to the indecision and pressure at the back. Had Kiddie taken their chances, like Oxford did, we would have been stuffed. When so many players are being played out of position and this leads to obvious problems, maybe it's the formation that needs changing (as you have suggested before) or new back-up players need signing.

Nice. If anyone wants to employ me for a couple of months, I can guarantee them business failure and will only ask for £150,000 pay-off.

Whilst the chairman must take the majority of the responsibility for what has gone on, after all he must have appointed / signed-off the various managers and authorised salaries, transfer fees etc. You have to wonder what the Gray Hill affect was?

Hornchurch - Weymouth - What price Rushden & Diamonds will be next???

Fair points Bernard.
As you said, round pegs for round holes etc. makes for a better team, ie playing wingers on the wing and full backs at full back.
