SODJE OR MOORE

Recommended Posts

Who should partner charlie mc.LD loves him to bits and will choose moore, charlie seems to be happier with moore and luke looks better when running with the ball. But sodje scores more goals/mins on pitch than luke, he heads the ball better than luke ,he does not get knocked off the ball as easily as luke and does not moan all the time like luke. What is luke moore, a striker? a winger? or just a front runner. Both are young and have a future, but sodje does not get the chances luke gets.

Moan ? A footballer moaning ? whatever next ?....a place is reserved for Luke on the terraces when he finishes playing.........next to CG on the halfway line !! ( only joking CG.....you still haven't got that round in yet !!)

Cheers.....

Back to topic, though, It's a difficult choice between them.

Luke seems to have more vision, better control and looks like he makes more "intelligent" runs into the box; whilst Sodje has more "presence", stronger physique and is a wholly more intimidating player than Moore. He takes a lot of the physical pressure off Charlie when he is playing, and MacDonald is the one player in the team we need to nuture and protect if we are to maintain our challenge.

It is for that reason I would go with Sodje.

Paradoxically, Luke and Sodje look a good pairing in the own right, as each bring different attributes, and complement each other rather well.

Quite possibly, but I simply responded to the question.

Haven't seen Varney yet, so cannot possibly comment yet.

Whatever, none of the 3 are near MacDonald's class, so while we play with 2 up front, and while MacDonald is available, they will have to live with perming 1 from 3 to play with 2 on the bench at best.

How do you know? If you 'cannot possibly comment'? wink

From what I saw of Varney at Kidderminster on Saturday I have to say I saw little special. However that may well have been that we tended to skip the midfield out all game, leaving the defenders to hoof the ball forward fairly aimlessly. I can scarcely recall Varney having the ball and his partnership with Moore seemed to me the most impotent we've ever had when not being forced to field non-strikers up front.

Of course I can comment.
He is a young lad who is now playing at the highest level of his career, and so far has had apparently good patches and indifferent ones.
He may become a top player, as might Luke and Onome, but reputations have to be earned, over a period of time, against quality oppostion.

He comes with little known about him, apart from the fact he has a famous and wealthy father.

Perhaps I should have said "Whatever, none of the 3 are near MacDonald's class, YET" for which I apologise, but the point is our forward line will for the forseeable future be MacDonald + A N Other.

MacDonald came with a reputation as a prolific goalscorer at this level, as a great team player and a real workhorse with a top classt attitude.

What he has done is exceeded and enhanced his reputation and increase his value 10 fold.

Well he cost us nothing, 10 times nothing is errrr nothing, so when he leaves no doubt as an out of contract player we will get precisely nothing for him.

'Cannot possibly comment' is appearing in nearly all your posts at the moment, Gary - it's in danger of becoming your catchphrase.

All things considered, I'd go with Sodje too. After his winning goal on Saturday, he should be the man 'in possession'.

The problem is that most of Sodje's good performances have come when he comes off the bench.

Personally i would have one more crack at the Varney/MacDonald partnership that looked good at Woking (if not so good at Northwich)

Think you missed the whole point of the wink emoticon there.
