Hertford Town wave the white flag!

Recommended Posts

I found this on the Hertford Town site, its part of the report from their home defeat to Tring yesterday. I would not say its all over yet, but...it looks like Hertford have already given up any hope of catching us

"Anxious not to fall behind with any more fixtures, and to complete Ryan Redford's 3 match ban, manager Dave Greenwood and player Kevin Cooper helped committee men get the pitch playable for this game. The effort rebounded on them when Tring, who had suffered a 7-1 mauling at the Blues' hands earlier in the season, beat them with a determined performance. This defeat finally puts paid to any hope of overhauling Edgware Town, and puts runners-up spot in doubt."

They were my words, not those of the Manager or players. I'm so impressed by Edgware's wonder team that I'm thinking of trading in my Blue scarf for a green one! Got any stock in your Club Shop yet, Gav? Order me a hat, scarf and metal badge, please.

LOL, No problem Horace, the badges arrived at my home last Friday and very nice they are as well, the scarves should be on their way in a couple of weeks, no hats though lol.

Serioulsy though, I think the league should let us, you and Harefield go up, why not, after all I am sure we would all do well in the leagues we go up to.

Re Harefield, they have not applied for promtoion, so its still between you and us as to who goes up!

I would of liked Hertford to win the league this year as i have a few friends who play for them, & iv missed the derby games between us this year... But to say all 3 teams should go up just because u think there good enough & would do well is a joke! 1 Team goes up who is good enough to win a very poor league!! Just because there are only 3 good teams in the SSML doesnt mean all 3 should go up...

So Gavin, where will you be posting on the forum next season?? Othere than some of the Hx lads know one else in our league have a sense of humour (including the Canvey crowd).
Most of them don't know the meaning of 'banter'. They all 'bite' though.

gotcha

Even more reason why less teams should go up from an even poorer division!

Just shows how much stronger Ryman 2 league was. A team that finished 7th in Ryman 2 is now winning the CCL & a team that finished 13th is challenging for runners up spot.. bootyshake

Bob, you said right at the start of the season that you expected us to be right up there, remember? when I said that our manager said top three at best would be good for us!

How do you think we will do next season?
