Just got back from Grays, where the gate was boosted by hundreds of annoyed Urchins - Max was there, Ken was there, Jay was there, I was there. I've been to Grays five times now since they went into the Conference, and all have ended 2-2.

 

Weymouth were not very good, ie awful. Grays missed a lot of chances, and their supporters were not happy. The announcer was awful. They played Urchins theme tune when Grays came out - Max was livid.

 

Talking to a well known reporter prior to the Tilbury call off farce - he told me that the pitch was considered unfit a long time beforehand, but a local ref had passed it - the real ref inspected it and considered that about 75% of the playing surface was unplayable. Quite a lot of flooding in the area around Tilbury.

our game at tilbury was never going to be played and in fairness.. tony cross rang jen and told her that at midday.... but what you guys have to understand is that club officials CANNOT call games off...only referees can do that and the one that went to tilburger early said he would leave it to the match ref who arrived at 1.30pm and called the game off...

 

no ones fault and in fairness to the tilbury officials they just wanted to get the game on and tried hard enough I understand.......it happens....
