AFC Wimbledon ??

Who'd have thought, at the time, that West Hams signing of those two Argentinians would have any bearing on the Ryman play-off places!

But there's six teams in with a good shot at only 5 places in the RPL, unless AFC get a severe punishment; and AFC's punishment could well be of secondary consideration to the FA if faced with the same scenario at a Premier League club.

I understand that Wimbledon's 'heinous'crime only came to light when the FA were processing the player's first booking after nineteen appearances. This raises two interesting but hypothetical scenarios.

If the player had not been booked until next season and the Wombles were playing in the Nationwide South how then would the league have punished them?

If the player was less sporting he could have been booked in his first game and Wimbledon would have got away with just a three point deduction.

Personally I think they have been hard done by and hope that whatever success comes our way this season is not reliant on their misfortune.

Hmmm... I don't think threatening legal action is a good way of endearing yourselves to the rest of the league though.

The thing is Adam, they signed up to the league and its rules at

the beginning of the season.

I can't see how they can be given any kind of reduction in penalty.

Lets say the FA decide that they will deduct just 9 points, surely then AFC will be entitled to have half of the trophy money returned?
