I wonder whether the abscence of signings is due to funding or RT's book of contacts as a rookie manager being a bit on the thin side.

Other clubs at top of table do seem to have freshened up their sides a bit.

Thats interesting TA as 3 weeks ago RT was looking to strengthen the squad (as he has also said since December) with two players;and since then we have a further two suspensions to cope with, have lost two games,so if it was not fine three weeks ago;why is it fine today.

Mind you, i guess we all change our minds about various things from time to time

Its ok RT saying that he is satisfied with the current squad but when was the last time, and the next time, we will play our stongest team. With the current supensions we only need to pick up a knock or two and we are really struggling for a team. Lets face it we have been lucky with the postponements enabling Pat sappleton to gain fitness.

And as a manager you have to succeed in this aspect of management aswell.

Its the same as most businesses-you tender for contracts-and have to win a reasonable number of them-or your business does not do well.

No-one could argue that the signings made-Jay and Sapps are quality, but time is definately here where we need to freshen up and strengthen for the final run in.

Even when we've overcome the suspensions; with all the games to be played in a short period there will be more suspensions and more injuries so the squad will remain depleted.

RT may have changed his mind and decided that' today ' squad is ok; but it won't be in a couple of weeks when we start playing 2/3 games a week.

RT has done great to get us in top 5 i think; but he needs to keep us there;and lack of signings which are his responsibility will count against us.

Difficult for RT as new in job so i guess fewer contacts;(surely MF should have plenty of contacts though which i would have thought was one of RT's reasons for wanting him on board) but i'm afraid the buck stops with him; and the results on a saturday and tuesday are purely the culmination of the off field management work;where you also need to prove yourself and i would respectfully suggest that there remains a bit of work to be done there before we can regard RT as the worlds best manager which is what we want for the 'Gate and for him personally

Sam and Leroy should ask if we could become the Nursery club for Reading , and send us all there young talented players down to HDP to gain 1st team experience , well 3-4 anyway . How many Ryman teams could say they have got Premiership players in there squad , anyone got Sam or Leroys mobile No`s please give them a call ( don`t ask don`t get ) . We did it with Arsenal we can do it again.
