if you are aware of the new licensing laws you will realise that you cannot supply your own alcoholic refreshments at the stadium....

This has nothing to do with any kind of selective recall. Fifteen years ago, we negotiated a groundshare agreement with Hornchurch. Not being a committee member (at the time) was never privvy to the details.

As far as I was aware, we kept gate receipts, programme money, 50/50s, and there was, I think, some small deal with the burger bloke, but not too sure.

The bar money was all HXs.

This worked seemingly well, until HX moved the goalposts at the start of the 94-5 season, stating they demanded we (Romford home matches) put a certain amount of money behind the bar, if not we had to make it up in cash.

And you wonder why we were pissed off?

 

no mention of the reason why Hx asked for guaranteed payment...'twas cos coup and his pals decided to boycott the bar so it wasn't worth opening was it on boro matches...I have all of jim bradshaws diaries which he left in my safe keeping for the club...its all in there...

Wow! this is a great thread ! Just read it from start to finish.

 

Learnt a great deal about property law, liquidation law and town planing.

 

However having only lived in the area for eight years the references to Romford F.C.s "Glorious Past", "Fame" and being "A Sleeping Giant" went straight over my head!

Just quickly, how shiiit is the romford recorder, the picture above the "ground share" article is a pic of action when we was at Ware playing Enfield, the description says

 

"Action from Hornchurch Stadium on saturday where urchins were held to a 1-1 draw by Waltham Abbey, their third succesive home draw in the Ryman League,Pictured are Alex Fiddes (7) and Jamie Southon trying to block a shot from Abbeys Albert Bostock, with Urchins skipper John Purdie keepin a close watch on the situation"

 

1. Surely they must know that it is NOT bridge Avenue.

2. There reporter went to the Wabbey game and surely knew they played in green and white hoops.

3.How can they get Albert Bostock Wrong?
