Who's your new signing going to be?

I suspect that the 'you're' in the title of your posting is intended to be the possessive, in which case, try 'your', which is the correct form. Within the body of your posting, you use 'you're' being the abbreviation of 'you are' and both the form, and the apostrophe have been used correctly in that instance.

So Wilf. Since Christmas, you have come on here on half a dozen occasions apparently seeking a response from me to something you claim to have heard at the Fans Forum. I have ignored your comments but perhaps it's now time.

You have previously said that you overheard part of a conversation between two or three people, one of whom said that he was too intelligent to bother to debate any given point with anyone in the room. You have asked my views of a person who would say such a thing. Today, it's that person's intellect which is superior to anyone elses, and for the first time, you sugeest that it was me. You have invited my views of that several times. They are as follows:

Firstly, I don't eavesdrop on other peoples conversations. If I did overhear a snatch of some discussion, I wouldn't refer to it on here, or in any other 'public place'. If it seriously offended me, I might take it up with the person concerned privately, but I would want to be absolutely certain of what I had heard and the context of it.

Secondly, snide asides such as those that you appear to specialise in are not my bag, and I saw no reason to respond to you previously.

Thirdly, I previously wondered what anyone who claimed to have the view that you allege you overheard was doing at the Fans Forum in any event. Now you suggest that it was me. Not guilty, old chap. I don't have to defend myself against you, or anyone else, but as a matter of fact, I enjoy some of the debates on here, and contribute to some in a modest way. I enjoy hearing the different views of Saintsfans at games, too, and I consider that one of the great things about Non League football is the opportunity for a healthy exchange of opinions concerning players, games, teams etc. etc. I should add, however, as I have declared on another thread, in a totally different context, that I didn't speak at The Fans Forum. A few people on here know who I am, and if my word isn't good enough for you, others will no doubt confirm that. Others could also confirm that I am entirely happy to debate matters in which I have an interest, and that I make no claims about my intellect or intelligence.

Fourthly, your persistance suggests to me that the person you have in mind has offended you elsewhere. I have no idea who you are. I have just looked at some of your previous contributions on here and I don't see anywhere that we have 'crossed swords' in debate. I'll be kind and suggest that it's a case of mistaken indentity, therefore.

Fifthly, great response GHA. I wish I had the intellect to have said that!

Sixthly, I think that we have finished exchanging views, Wilf.

I don't BM, but I know rubbish when it's served up and that night against Enfield at The Woood, it was dreadful. If I remember, we needed three points to struggle up to fifth in the table, but, for sure, Enfield were fighting for points to avoid relegation. It was so bad that someone came on here suggesting that the result would have given some pleasure to Fatboy who was the Chairman at the time, in view of his past association with the boys from Brimsdown. He came on with a spirited defence, as I recall.

We were so bad that if they had been trying to lose, they would have nicked a draw.
