Last Night

As most of you know I'm not normally somebody who jumps on bandwagons and continually moans but I have to say our current performances are testing my patients a little too far. Last night was the latest in what is becoming a long line of poor displays. Keep in mind Lymington lost most of their 1st team players last week and the rest are not being paid and looked like they had been drafted in from the youth team. Also keep in mind they were still struggling before they lost all their players.

We were comfortably beat last night by a more organised (how many times have we said this recently) and also a more determined and disciplined team. We never really looked like scoring; I think their keeper made one good save all night. From where I was standing it looked like Cooper deserved to go. He lost the ball and as their striker was through on goal he pulled him down.

Once again the discipline looked shocking. I know if you took the aggression away from some of the players they wouldn't be the same players but surely aggression needs to be controlled.

On current form we will be miles away from the play-offs come the end of the season. We either have some good players who are not performing at the moment or we have a few players who are vastly over-rated. On recent displays the latter is worryingly looking like the likely scenario.

As I said I'm not normally one to rant but I think the supporters who made the effort to go last night and who stood in the rain for 90 minutes deserve to witness a better display from (allegedly) one of the best teams in the league.

Controlled aggression - you mean like their No.7 who committed 2 atrocious tackles in the first half and didn't even get booked, or the 3 who got away with murder and then got himself booked for gobbing-off at the ref and then committed a blatant obstruction as Henry-Haydn was going through and didn't get a 2nd yellow?

I would never believe a referee would deliberately cheat so I have to make the assumption that this particular one was just incompetent because to think anything else is frightening for football as a whole!

Coops had to go and it was an easy decision for the ref, but what we're looking for is consistency in their decisions and he most certainly wasn't consistent last night!

To say there were no positives from the game is harsh, Ifura and Edgerley were outstanding, Cahill has slotted in very well at right back, the return of Coyne after illness was a bonus and we just need to get everyone fit and into a run of games without a break to get back to what we were doing before the enforced winter-break kicked in.

The trouble is with the recent bad weather and our dodgy pitch we are going to have more cancellations which means we might not have a decent run of games.

By the time we do, playoffs maybe out of reach.

Windsor Sec. I don't recall saying there weren’t any positives. I agree Cahill was much improved particularly in the 1st half and Ifura was good again but you must admit the negatives far outweigh the positives.

Yes the ref was poor and we did seem to bare the brunt of his poor decisions (I'll never know what Cahill got booked for).

To be honest I don't care how the Lymington players behave, for what its worth I thought they looked a bit lightweight if anything. I'm more concerned with the Windsor players...I won't mention names but a certain Midfielder should of walked in the 2nd half when he booted one of the Lymington players off the ball and one of the attacking players should have gone in the 1st half when he deliberately jumped 2 footed onto one of the lymington players leg well after the ball had gone (if its any conciliation Windsor Sec I think it was their number 3).

I'm all for aggression, it shows the players care but a couple of Windsor players are slightly overstepping the mark at the moment.

Probably something to do with the fact he barged one of their players to the floor after losing the ball. Spotted by the linesman and the ref got finally got the correct player after the third attempt.

trouble is SL hasnt got much options only three subs,no reserve keeper, and what appears to be lack of disciplin,{ and tactics}which if you check the records WEFC have more than their fare share of Reds and Yellows, dont blame the pitch, dont blame the lack of games, get the manager and assistant to earn their corn. Apparently those Lymington players are playing for their club not the cash so fine heavely any WEFC player that is sent off or booked.Put the money in a kitty and next season you would have lots of cash to spend on up and commimg players not ones living on reputation. By the way see Burnham are now third and Mudge was overlooked for WEFC managers position.

I didn't go to Lymington but may i offer my congrats on joining the real world Mr Thistle. Windsor have been (in the main) pants since we lost to Bashley at home around the end of November. Team dicipline is down to the manager ultimately and as this has been a problem for months now this means that either SL isn't doing anything about it, the players ae ignoring what SL says to them or they simply don't give a cr*p on any level.

Windsor will not be troubling the play-offs this season with or without any more postponements and i'd say it's high time Mr Simpson & Co took a long cold hard look at what they want and indeed where they are with on and off the field affairs at the club. If Mr Simpson and Co walked away from Stag Meadow (for whatever reason) what would there lasting legacy to the FC be?
Probably not very much on paper for all the hard work, hours and cash they've sunk in over the years. brwn_md_wht
