As there is very little to talk about at the moment I will start a new thread to get some ideas flowing. Now how many of you are out there this morning?

Now I don't pretend to know anything about the subject so please bear with me on this, but has the club thought of selling shares in the club. Aldershot did it several years ago and it was a great success with the shares being taken up very fast, with a number of supporters not being able to buy any. They initially sold 50,000 shares but at their AGM this week they have voted to increase the issue to one million. Would it be worth the board looking at selling shares in the club. At Aldershot no member can be in possession of more than 20% of shares insuring that nobody can come in and buy the main stake in the club so there is not one main shareholder. If the shares were sold at say 50p each, that would, I assume be £25,000 towards redevelopment, players etc. If the rumours are true and an announcement about the ground is imminant that could encourage people to purcahes shares. On the other hand the money could be spent on developing the ground, maybe terracing at the coffin end. Does anybody know anything about share issues that could enlighten us.

Great idea except I think the only people who would buy are some of us on the forum and maybe 'some' others but not enough to get the kind of dosh we need.
