As we now have nothing better to do this evening..

Having been asked to set up a web site based around a content management system, forum and Chatroom for someone I have had a practise run by setting up a Margate FC one at my old site address of www.margatefc.net .

Now that there is not game this evening I thought a few of you might like to take a look, register and maybe even give some feedback. If it looks like it will be beneficial then I would be happy to keep the site up and running, although due to my time restraints I would need some people to moderate and update.

I have no plans, at this moment, to turn this into a up-to-date news site but it is still fully-featured and would run quite nicely as a community site.

At the moment not all the links actually go to anything interesting and the design is very basic but the main features are all working, including the forum and the chatroom (which could, eventually, feature video chat) and there are many little add-ons that I can add to things like the forum, over time, to make them even better. I have learnt before that I can spend weeks on a design and then find the basics are not running correctly so this time am doing it backwards!

Registered members will automatically log-in to the chat room when they click the link as long as they are logged-in to the main site.

I am going to be doing bits and pieces to it tonight to try to make a few improvements so any feebdack would be greatfully recieved. As I said, if the response is good I will continue to add lots of features to make it as usuable as possible.

It should be possible to 'doctor' the link that was sent when it was not quite working right June.

Instead of clicking on the link in the email to confirm just copy it and past it into your browser.

I am assuming the link it gives you begins with

http://www.margatefc.net/register.php?activate.....

If so you have to just amend it so it starts with

http://www.margatefc.net/[color:#FF0000]php/register.php?activate.....[/color] with obviously the rest of the link remaining the same.

If it still does not work let me know here and I will see what I can do.

There is now an event Calender (though with hardly anything on it at the mo) down the left hand side.

Also I have set it up so each member can have their own photo gallery to share and pics they have got over the years. For more info on setting up your own gallery check the FAQ's
