Hertford v Harefield OFF

Recommended Posts

The game has been postponed at the request of the police, as the area surrounding the ground is a crime scene, following the discovery of a body not far away. This is not a joke, there is a murder investigation under way.

It is highly likely that the game would have been called off anyway because of a waterlogged pitch.

Looks like it was a "rough sleeper" from under the railway arches, poor chap.

Police have now made an arrest.

They're all "big"! Home to Tring Athletic Saturday (Redford still suspended). Then home to Leverstock Green next Tues.

Looks like one for the conspiracy theorists is building up! With no free Tuesdays until April for us, it looks increasingly like back-to-back games with The Hares in mid April. Picture this scenario - if either club gets 6 points off the other, could make the difference in overhauling Edgware! By then will be very clear what's needed. Also, the rematch game Edgware v Harefield will be around the same time, and OH, how Harefield want to win that one.

Richard Morton has a 3 game ban coming up soon too!

......

Our match is off tonight, thats the THIRD time its been postponed v Aston Clinton! Does the game go to their ground now? LOL

Bit of a mad thing to happen to postpone your game tonight Horace, but as you say,I think the game would have been off anyway.

Re, you playing Harefield twice in the space of days, and then them playing us, its still a LOT of ground for them to make up. I am quitely pleased your game is off tonight, because a win for you would have seen the gap reduced to just 5pts, but even then, you would still need us to lose two games, and seeing that we have played 27 league matches and just lost once, the odds on two defeats would be low.

Obviously Harefield will be up for their match with us, but so will we. I would be more worried about Harefield overtaking yourselves if you drop some points!

The only worry I have is a fixture congestion, but we have a big squad, and the loss of Richard Morton for three games, whilist annoying, is not the end of the world, we have won when 'morts' has not been in the side this season, and we can score goals from all areas.

The signing of Greg Ngoyi is a very good one, he has played at Northampton Town, Alyesbury United and we signed him from Ashford Town (Middx) he scored TWO goals with his first two touches and was only on the pitch for about 10 mins!

Every report about him for his previous clubs says he is a very fast pacy striker and he does seem to have those qualities, as I said the loss of Morts wont be as big as probelm for us,as the loss of Redford is for your club.

We would also like to hear from anyone who has seen anything suspicious in the Cole Green Farm area over recent weeks. All calls will be handled discreetly."

Is this the farm at the back of Hertfords ground, where the allotments are?

Gavin is right, having 'Morts' suspended is annoying, he fell foul of Broxbourne Borough's rough house tactics that they always seem to resort to when they are loosing a game, as in the match against you on Saturday.

However, we have the players to fill the gap, Adam Wallace has scored plenty this season, Ben Cain has found his scoring boots recently and Stuart Blackburne will be fit again in a week or two. Add to this Greg Ngoyi and some tough midfield players who can all score goals, I don't think Steve or Del will be too concerned.

Not to mention the team!
