I was online last nite (while you lot were probably tucked up in bed) and I recieved a PM from David Holden asking about a moderator. I read in previous post that Peter W put himself foward as I did. David Holden said he wants someone from the forum and was going to get back to us.

As the person who started the debate as to why we have a supporter from another club moderating our Forum I would like to make the following observations.

 

1) I am not questioning David Holden's ability to be a Moderator just that he is not a Margate Supporter.

 

2) A Moderator in my opinion should be totally un biased and have no favorites or enemies.

 

3) I disagree with all cenorship of all kind and by this I support the right of Ian Sandeson to post his vitirol on this board. This does not mean that I agree with it or even like him or want to have him post on this board.

 

4) A moderator on the Margate board should be a Margate supporter.

 

Finally and in conclusion even though I have received a number of PM's asking me to become a Moderator I will not due to the fact I would not be unbiased and would abuse the confidentially that Moderators have. Also if I became a Moderator I could not be abusive and obnoxious as I normally am.

Not wishing to intervene, Joseba, but aren't points 2 and 4 juxtaposed?

I see no reason why a mod HAS to be a Margate supporter, nor do I see why he has to be unbiased.
We have FleetFanatic, Jimmy, ChrisBlanc and (rarely) Cassandra all of whom are very biased, Fllet supporters, but also do an excellent job.
Moreover, if posters are responsible, like most of us are, the mods job is made a whole bunch easier by being rarely required.

Good luck Dan you're going to need it I've been posting on several forums for over 8 years and the moderators are all disliked. They are in a no win situation because they are only needed when things get out of hand and the people dont like cencorship. Anyway good luck M8

Talking about playing catch up we can all now sit back & watch
Bromley & Hampton rise above us tonight.More catching up to do there now.AFC playing tonight also so how much is the screw going to be turned with tonights games.
Can we get some results go our way tonight? Something tells me "no" we wont.
