City Go Nap...

...to quote the leg-end that is Dick Marshall EVERY time a team scores five - tonight's result Chelmsford City 5 Carshalton 1. Bets on now that there will be a piece in the Echo tomorrow about how "ex-Canvey manager Jeff King's Chelmsford side went to the top of the Ryman League.." blah blah blah...

I was at the game yesterday and the score was a fair result I thought.

Carshalton were woe full in defence trying to play out instead of clearing their lines, they were never going to out-football Chelomo.

Mind you the Carshalton No 10 had some very good chances early doors, but it just wasn't his night, I dint think he could have scored in a crack house last night. Had he had his scoring boots with him it would have been a a lot closer. The Carshalton No 7 looks lively.

I thought the first pen was a bit harsh but no doubt about the second one. Boyland looked sharp.

And who was that Lumberjack who took the p$ss out of my 1974 sheepskin...:-)

Err.....not a very good post to bait Gazza with if I may say so Peter. He'll only go on about the 3 penalties we've got in the last 2 games - with the resultant destination of the Oscars being in question!

Over the 90 yes. But it could so easily have been 2-2 at HT, which may have put a different compexion on the second-half. I was amazed how easily Carshalton unzipped Chelmo on two or three occasions in the first 45 mins and if it hadn't been for some woeful finishing they should have had a couple. The first penalty looked undeserved to me and judging from the (over) reaction of Carshalton, they thought so too.

The best goal of the night for me was Carshaltons conscelation goal.

Considering the home teams performance that place is like a morgue most of the time!

One would expect that from a Riccay fan no less..... cool

The best goal in terms of footballing and team effort was the last goal by Spencer Knight....

and being at the Match of course you would have noted that if the continual chances had been taken it could have been 6 or 6 nil by half time!!!!

Yawn...LF...give your hatred of Billericay a rest will ya!!! He has an opinion fer pities sake and is allowed to voice it without some [****!!****] Numpty coming on here throwing the toys out of the pram.

Actually, considering that two goals were penalties, one would imagine that the averages of the Carshalton goal being the better of the the goals scored in open play greatly hightened. Of course we're talking about the law of averages here and with the amount of penalties per game you have won this season, we can only asume that it is the same old Chelmsford, always cheating... grin

Damn, there goes the green eted monster again, lemons and all...

I was upstairs and didn't see TC in his Sheepy, I would of introduced myself. Rik I don't how you can try and make out that Carlshalton could of been 2-2 at half-time, just because they had two chances, going by that theory it should have been 21-2 at half time wink

I don’t thinks anyone could disagree that the easiest chance of the night fell to the Carshalton and that was to go level at 1-1, his pass back/shot was bordering on comical.

I was sat in the stand Bub, and at half time I took tea in the VIP lounge....:-)

Spoke to Trevor Wright for quite a while, also Paul Hopkins and David Selby. Exchanged pleasantries with PF and the suave Mr Mixture.

Do I note an air of optimism in the claret camp, what happened to all that doom and gloom of a few weeks ago?
