Fleeting Glance - before shooting off without thinking first, perhaps you should admit the fact that the report was on West Ham's website and NOT Charlton's, so it's more the Academy of Football, the club that won the world cup, blah, blah, blah that were being patronising.

I personally think it's great that they are playing their reserves and ladies games at San Stonebridge, particularly as they don't play many games, so the pitch doesn't take such a battering as when Dartford played there.

I thought he was quite anonymous and one of the least effective players on the pitch until he left it. I dont care what they say the opportunity to see several premiership players at Stonebridge Road has been great so lets hope Charlton can (somehow) stay up. Crowd announced as around 700 last night so hopefully the club may have made a few bob too.

It will effect them to the extent that they wont be playing Premiership reserve teams and therefore the chance to see the occasional big name player coming back from injury etc will be lost as will most of the crowds. Or are you saying that the Reserves will still be allowed to play in the Premiership reserve league even though the first team are in the Championship ?

This is due to the fact a rule was introduced the start of this season where the Premier Reserve League was for Premier League Clubs only.

So there you have it. Seeing how people don't seem interested in who they bring down I don't think it will matter. Plus if they do go down then it won't help their coach service, I'm all for them playing Scunthorpe next season. Sorry Charlton fans.

I know, I was a bit surprised when I read it. I remember a few years back Chelsea always seemed to be battling it out against Millwall at the top of their reserve League but Chelsea and Millwall were not in the same League. That was only 12 or so years ago so Chelsea would have been in the Premier League then. As she says though it has only been brought in at the begining of this season.

Looking on the Website the two leagues North and South do only have Premier League Teams in them.

I think that's because this is the first year of this format so it would be easy to include only the premiership sides. Whether they will change it next season remains to be seen.

Exactly what happened to Saints reserves.
They are strolling through some other youth league these days and loaning the youngsters out to Yeovil, Bournemouth etc.
