Tuesday Night's Match

I think refs are going to have to use a little bit of common sense here. If they arrive at the Slag and it is anyway playable they have to let it go. We have eight home fixtures left to play in eight and a bit weeks. If you look at March we already have 9 fixtures scheduled for that month so there really is not much room for rescheduling. The games should only be called off if it really is dangerous.

Martin, I agree. We are nearly in the same situation as when we had to play Worthing a few seasons a go. The game had to be played that week as it was the last week of the season, and the game went ahead even though you couldn't see the other side due to the driving rain.

If this carries on, with Windsor's backlog, one or two more cancellations and we won't be able to play them due to time constraints.

Ultimately for us it is pretty irrelevant because we will be relegated regardless of whether we play all our games but the season ticket holders are entitled to see a full season's matches and it is going to effect other teams in the league. I am not certain that the pitch at the Slag can be much worse than the one we played on Saturday and that wasn't particularly dangerous. It might also be worthwhile the ref having a quite word to the players about being sensible so that the game can be played.

I do hope it is on, but given the ground was pretty sodden this morning as I left home, I'm not hopeful. Surely Windsor will have some say in trying to protect what is left of the pitch as well as I can't imagine they will want it ruined any more than it is, time constraints or not.

i also hope it is on, but looking at the ground this morning im not convinced that the windsor pitch will be able to hold together. looking at the fixture list its going to be very tough to get much from the remaining games, pushing the players into 3 games a week will be very tough for them.
