The run-in

Ours isn't that bad a run-in once we get over this sticky patch. Purely guesswork below, but I figure the following results

could come good. And 76 points has been good enough to secure a play-off spot for the past four seasons.

Kidderminster H - LOSE

Weymouth - WIN

Stafford Rangers - DRAW

Burton Albion - DRAW

Aldershot Town - DRAW

Tamworth - WIN

York City - LOSE

Halifax Town - DRAW

Forest Green Rovers - WIN

Altrincham - DRAW

Southport - WIN

St Albans City - WIN

Dagenham & Red. - LOSE

Northwich - WIN

That's 23 points, leaving us on 76 points total.

I think your right Gary, team that find form now will be the ones who make the end of season play-offs. I think the Fleet's form over the last few months has been hit and miss at times. Some great results at times, offset by some bad performances. We need to push on now and really get something from Saturday's game and secure a win at home to Weymouth next week, that will get us going again.

Au contraire, Harry. We can probably only afford to lose 3, maximum 4 games during the run in to keep our hopes alive.

D&R looks tough, so does York. Add in Stafford (and we know what THEY can do!), means a draw will keep us alive, whereas a defeat will mean will will have to pull up trees at the remainder of our away games.

On top of that we probably need to win most our remaining home games.

I still think 77-80 points will secure a play off berth, but now is not the time to lose form.

This represents very good form, but would only give us 79 points.

Anything less will make it very difficult to stay in touch.

So then we can afford to lose 3 or 4 where as if they lose on saturday then their season will be pretty much over, thus making their need greater than ours?

With just under a third of the season to go its a bit early for predictions but looking at the stats:

If we maintain our season-to-date form (1.65 pts per game) we will end up with 76 points.

If we maintain our form over the last 8 games (1.87 pts per game) to the end of the season we will end up with 79 points and a seasons average of 1.72

5th placed team over the past 3 seasons has finished with an average of 1.76 (5/6), 1.71(4/5), 1.66(3/4).

That's a couple of big IFs..........for now I'd just settle for something from tomorrows game.
