Edgware pitch

Recommended Posts

Gavin, how is the pitch holding up at Edgware with the heavy rainfall we've had recently? Our reserves are due to play there on Saturday and I was wondering how likely it is to be played? Having had a few first team games off recently, you must be having a mini fixture-backlog so was wondering whether there would be a temptation to "save" the pitch for first team games only.

I am not sure PBT about reserve/youth team home games, but I am sure that the first team come first and that they will indeed have to 'save' the pitch to cope with as you put it a mini backlog of fixtures all of which are home first team matches.

We are due to play Aston Clinton at home tomorrow in the QF of the SSML Challange Trophy, on Saturday we are away to Holmer Green so if the weather stays dry I would imagine the reserve match will go ahead.

We stay have to pencil in a home semi final v Amersham if we beat Aston Clinton, and Home league matches against Biggleswade Town/Oxhey Jets both of which were postponed!

Currently at 5.30pm on Tuesday 27th the White Lion is more like the Wet Lion as the ground is flooded from the heavy rain last night and then all day today, the forcast is for more rain over the next few days and if this holds true the game on Saturday is doubtful. We would not postphone a game without calling in a referee to inspect the pitch if required.
