Hornchurch admission prices ?

Could someone please tell me the actual adult admission price for a Hornchurch league home match ? I have only been 3 times so far but each time I have been charged on the turnstile £7. Originally when I viewed the official site I saw the price as £5 for adults (Which it still shows !). The first time I went I was charged £14 for 2 adults but just thought that the site had not been updated recently. I went last tuesday and was again charged £14 for 2 adults, not thinking much of it as it was the same as the previous tume. Today whilst I was queuing up to get in I saw a poster for today's game stating the fee for today's game was £6 per adult. I handed a £10 note and was given £3 back and a ticket stub stating price paid £6. I was wondering if this is a genuine mistake 3 times in a row of the guy on the turnstile (Whom has been the same for my last 2 visits - Cant remember who took it the 1st time) or is it being skimmed off every casual fan who decides to take an interest in their local team and if so will anybody take notice of this and respond to my post.

yeah I'll respond to it...(why should you assume we wouldn't?) in my 6 years at the club we have never had a complaint from any visitor about the charges to get in and the honesty of the long standing volunteers on the gate....these are serious accusations you level 'mr newcomer' so please come to the stadium on monday (or whenever you can) telephone jennie on 01708-220080 first and we'll arrange for you to meet the guys on the gate and you can ask them about it...

in the meantime we charge 6 quid for adults to get in...and that applies to everyone...we have never charged the maximum allowed by the league for entry (at any level) and have never ripped our fans off with inflated cup tie prices....

I am also somewhat surprised that you didn't ask someone on the gate or at the club about your 'experience' but decided to post it on here..!!!

in any event perhaps you can PM nett and give her your name and contact details please so she can deal with your complaint...

thank you and look forward to hearing from you...

Very nice of you to respond - Even nicer of you to try and arrange for me to meet face to face with the people on the gate, whom I am sure would willingly admit IF any wrongdoing has in fact taken place ! The reason why I did not mention it at the gate was it was not till I had already passed through and looked more closely at the ticket that I realised the price actually says £6. By the time that I had realised the discrepancy I had already walked away, so it would of been hard to prove the error. Also as there is already a discrepancy with regards to the price advertised on the website I was not very sure of the correct price as on my previous visits it was the same. I must admit that it is my own fault for not realising it before, but the reason why I posted it here was to find out the correct pricing just in case it happened for a fourth time in a row, as then I will take it further with someone at the club.

1st time it happened I thought it was just that the website had not been updated correctly from the stated £5 price, 2nd time didn't even cross my mind as it was the same price charged as the first - 3rd time today when I realised it should of been £6 I needed clarifying which you have now kindly done. The reason why I posted it here is because this is a forum where people can leave messages or discuss particular subjects with other people at the same time. As I stated before I was unsure of it being my error or a genuine mistake or something else. I have enjoyed every match I have attended home or away so far and do intend to keep coming, so I do not want to cause offence to volunteers whom do so for the good of the club. Now that I have pointed out the discrepency of the web site price hopefully this can be corrected and any complaint regarding issues like the above should be looked into by the club regardless who is right or wrong, as they may put off other new comers.

I do have to say it makes a change supporting a club that actually has consistency in winning or drawing unlike my other team West Ham !

matters not if you are local or far away.....urchins exist all over the globe....

please make yourself and your concerns known to our officials if you would as you did suggest that 'people may be skimming off the top' your words on open forum not mine...I think that such a suggestion demands the right of reply from the said gate keepers.....

as for website updates.....well it takes a lot of peoples time to run a footie club and they don't get paid either so perhaps we can forgive a few mistakes in some areas....send nett a PM with your name and address if you would and I am sure she will be pleased to refund the 3 quid...

thanx

Having bitten my tongue for hours I have decided to stick in my two penn'eth. I see this as a very spiteful post by "Mr. Newbie" and no more than a blatant attempt to discredit our Club and cause as much embarrassment as possible.

We have home gates averaging over 400. Many regulars choose not to purchase a Season Ticket but to pay on the gate so if such incidents, as insinuated by "Mr. Newbie", had ever happened to others don't you think we would have heard about it? Or, what would be even more incredulous, does "Mr. Newbie" think he was deliberately singled out!

Our volunteers dedicate hours and hours of their free time in the service of our Club and to make such accusations of impropriety is nothing more than scandlous.

I doubt the Club will be directly contacted by our new "fan". Such accusations are easily made behind the curtain of aanonymity.

after reading this i think that either a genuine mistake has been made or as sid says someone is basically trying to discredit the club, which i feel more likely. Why on earth if you was charged £7 and had a ticket for £6 would you not say something at the time.It just doesn't add up and if it happened more than once like claimed then you wouldn't let it happen 3 times before moaning about it.

The thing that leaves a sour taste with me is that if someone is trying to stitch the club up or embarrase them then they are simply not doing that but instead are actually stitching up someone who works on the gate as a volunteer and does a good job at that.Me thinks another hornchurch hater is on the prowl!!

Zody anyone????

seems alot of effort to go to for 3 quid.

the admission price is clearly stated on the gate, perhaps joe hasn't checked his change properly?

should we stick a sign up saying please check your change as mistakes cannot be rectified afterwards?

whatever, this does seem to be getting blown out of all proportion.

joe. ask for treeboy at the next game and i'll give you 3 quid.

For the record this was because of an incorrect link i.e. the page was updated but the link wasn't.

This has now been corrected.

Your welcome - Nice to know that someone actually took the time and trouble to read and digest the reply that I done smile
