PASE players......

Recommended Posts

in response to the point of the premierleague and league sides we could do something similar to what gillingham do. They take on the rejected Chelsea players(i think it was those teams however i could be wrong but the general idea is there) and then do the same sort of sorting process chelsea do,the club may already do this as i know we have Craig Maguire in one of our youth sides,an ex chelsea (and gillingham i think?)player.

obviosly you dont know much about football, i think the best way to judge these PASE lads is to watch them play a few games at dartford college (NWK college, Oakfield lane) 2 o'clock ko on a wed afternoon. the boys are top of the league with only losing 2 games all season (both cup). they are unbeaten in the league. they are not all local lads with half the team coming from london. most of them have played for academy teams so they have good experience.

the game against ERITH & BELVEDERE was blamed on PASE boys playing at the back when the only PASE boys playing were on the bench and DIDNT GET ON!!!

as mentioned before the fact that we were promoted made it harder for them to break through. the likes of coyle, richardson, mccan, spackman, hawkey, heson and hockey are all breaking through respectivly. hockey who is still on the PASE scheme is now back playing for gravesend after a brief lone spell and injury.

the pase scheme is a good idea as it costs alot less money than a academy, the boys all go to college as well as train all week and dont get a penny out of it. if we were an academy or school of excellence we would be paying each player a minimum of £25 a week.

with the likes of ade pennock and ian docker who are both ex proffessionals can only do good for the players and the vast experience is rubbing of on each player as the day goes by.

OK - this could be a good time to ban a certain ip address.....

I don't like to ban IP addresses except as a last resort. many of them are too fluid, so that the person that you thought you had banned comes back with a different IP, while one of the regulars finds he is banned.

The only real way to prevent arseholes like this posting is to make everyone register and then there is a measure of control.

As I now have time to monitor the board again, I don't see the need to go back to that. (And upset Hoagy into the bargain)

Hi Matt

In response to your queries:

To be fair this is our (my son and I) first season with the G&N youth teams and up to now there have been no chances to come and look around the ground or meet any of the players and we are certainly not allowed to train on the hallow turf (have to make do with Meopham sports ground). The boys were promised a visit to the ground to have a team photo taken there but it has not materialised as yet.

There is one very important incentive for the boys though, and that is that they receive a free pass into the ground for all home matches.

All training is done by our manager (a parent) although i have seen Ian Docker cast his eye around a couple of times.

Regards

Mike F

Sorry for the delay but i have been away for a few days.
