I am not stirring it Woody. I really wanted to know and I am not the only one. I was also very polite when I asked the question. If people take it the wrong way I am sorry and I and not sure how this question effects the club.

Recently it looks like you do a bit of everything. Just wandered what your role was. It also looks like you are losing weight. Have you been training with the team?

without unpaid volenteers like Mal small clubs would struggle to survive, he does the web site, away game reports, kit washing, sub board man, half time trick artist, makes people smile, squad photographer, runs the line, helps out reserves matches, not much left for others so give the lad some credit. Good on you Mal keep up the good work, if only he could play 1st team game for a few moments he would die a very happy man.

I respect what Malcolm does for the club and this website of course. I would submit however that people do not appreciate the "your just supporters" impression that is picked up where Mr Williams is concerned. I've been going to games just as long as our webmaster, have worked behind the bar at the club both paid and voluntarily, have worked on the clubs lottery, have given up my time to put up fixture posters in and around the town and various other things down the years. Do i give it the large ones to anyone who hasn't done those things, no i don't because we all pulling together in our own way to help the club as we see fit.

As someone else pointed out, is it healthy to have one individual with so many fingers in so mnay pies? For example i've heard down the years that many people have tried to get involved with the website and our webmaster has always sought to keep complete control. Great for a webmasters CV, but perhaps not so great when we have to wait 3 days for match reports and up to date fixture info.

Sorry Mr Webmaster but if you put yourself forward to run things then you deserve the respect and kudos when things go well but also the backlash when things go pear-shaped and yes that does include fans frustration when they see a 50+ seater turn up having been told there will be no coach.

Zoom, I have never given it large, a you put it, about what I do at the club. I have always done whatever I can to help the club run smoothly because there are usually very few people who will speak up and offer their services.

Firstly, yes people have offered to help with the site and I have always been thankful to anyone who wants to contribute any work to the site that they want to send me. I have never turned anyone away from helping with the site, but whenever anyone does offer they never follow it through. As for late match reports, yes one or two do take a cople of days to upload but this is normally due to geting back from games in the early hours of the morning, then going to work the next day and also having a life outside of the club. Also the fixture information is always upto date except straight after a game and when I am waiting for the re-arranged dates from Steve.

As for the coach I suggest that you get your facts straight before coming on here and trying to take the piss out of me. The coach was ordered by Steve Rowland and he ordered a 35 seater coach which was what was relayed to me. How can I do anything about a coach which is ordered as a 35 seater and turns up as a 52 seater. I'll tell you what, next time I will waste my phone bill and phone all the supporters and see if they want to rush to the club and get on the coach!

Very well said, Sec.

Too many people want to sit at their key-boards, whinging and moaning, but ask 'em to get off their fat @rses and do something constructive.... Well that's a different matter completely.

Keep doing what you do Mal ! I know you are really appreciated by the people who REALLY matter at the club !

Just on the coach issue - if the supporters want coaches to run to games the only way you can guarantee it is by running them yourself. Slough's supporters association or Trust has run a coach to pretty much every away game for as long as I can remember. The diffence is that there will always be a group of Slough supporters who want to travel by coach which prevents it from being a complete economical disaster. If those of you that go away could commit to travelling by coach either to specific games or everyone I'm sure between you you could manage to run one.

very well said martin but i think the problem arises when certain people, at the forum at the start of the season, said they would be responsible for certain things and then have since decided that they aren't going to bother anymore.

over the years i think everyone has done somethnig for the club in some way, it all rests on people putting their words in to actions.

I don't think there's any sort of 'You're just supporters' attitude from anyone within the club as the club wouldn't exist without the support whether it be just paying your entry fee on a match day through to those that give up their time to do more!

The simple fact is that there are lots of small jobs that could be easily handled by a number of people instead of one or two people taking everything on and getting no thanks for it at all.

The situation with the coach to Paulton was, I felt, explained quite clearly last week but, to reiterate, we were told they only had a 35 available and then turned up with a 52, without the benefit of a crystal ball I can't see what we could have done about it!

For those that did make it to Paulton I hope you had the opportunity to read the article they had reproduced from a recent Dicot Town programme where the club was asking for help around the club as they couldn't see how they were ever going to progress up the non-league ladder if more people didn't get involved. It was an interesting [and sad] article that should open a few peoples' eyes! If you take into account the superb facilities at Didcot, couple with their recent successes and still find out they're struggling purely on a manpower basis it makes you sit up and wonder about the future for a lot of non-league clubs!.

Well thats a highly provacative post from someone in an official capacity don't you think. Still it's good to know that those within the clubs "inner circle" have there heads stuck so firmly up there backside that they actually believe there own self-importance to the point where they can pidgeon hole anyone else as just a mere supporter. I think it's the display of such attitudes that cause resentment from you know the fans. The ones that pay to get in and actually really do matter.
