FGR At It Again!!

Recommended Posts

Every year they come up with something. It's like they go looking for it. I believe Peake, the culprit last season that wrote to all Conference Clubs, including ourselves, to try and get Alty deducted points, has again this season written to all clubs with this complaint. If that were the case it'd be interesting to see the response he received from Alty.

However this time he does raise an important point. The way I see it the player entered the field of play wearing the illegal piece of clothing, played some of the match and then when the ref realised he was wearing the clothing asked him to leave the field in order to remove it. Now okay it may be against the rules for the player to be wearing the tights but surely it is the refs error as he, or one of his "assistants" is supposed to check all players before they enter the field of play. The way I see it the ref is at fault for failing to fulfill his duty by allowing him to play and then admitting to his mistake when asking the player to leave the field in order to remove the clothing. If he then does order the player to leave the field then he should stop the game and wait for the player to return.

I don't know who the player in question was that played with a similar piece of illegal clothing but it goes on all the time, one rule for one and another rule for everybody else. Even Mark De Bolla gets away with it.

I've noticed that De Bolla has been wearing a Lee Protheroe style long sleved shirt in the last couple of home games.
