I'm sure no-one will plough on with anything until approval is given! I for one would like to show my support that little more as and when possible.

In any case isn't the point of Fans Trusts to put the ownership of clubs into the hands of supporters? It's not just about fundraising. And we all know that would never be allowed to happen.

Hope your pessimism is misplaced. I would have thought the board would have welcomed fans taking a more active role. They all seem to be fans themselves and maybe they have taken the club as far as they can. The ongoing saga with the ground looks a bit beyond their capabilities to sort out and perhaps if a fans trust took over negotiations with the council might be better?
But i agree with you their really isnt much mileage in a fans trust if it doesnt get any control over where the club is going.

If you are serious about a supporters trust then you should contact Supporters Direct, who will be able to guide you through th eformation and the running of a trust, which is a lot more complicated than the earlier posters in this thread seem to realise.

They will also provide the funding to set up the trust including the leagal fees.

I have read the above posts on this thread and, while I am all for the fans helping out the club surely this is why we have MISA who, in my opinion do a great job raising and putting monies into the club. Shouldn't we ALL be getting behind this band of people in helping the club through this tricky period with ground etc? Like CE I remember this was mooted before and never got of the ground then. Stick with MISA is what I say and channel your ideas through them.

AS for the fans taking over negoatiations re ground I have ABSOLUTE faith in Malcolm and the Board to get this sorted. After all surely Gary Lever would not have ploughed monies in if it was a non starter?

Cheers David but we did have Kevin Rye (an AFCW fan) from Supporters Direct down here for a meeting three years ago. It didn't get off the ground then unfortunately although I do believe Dave Cox must have some info on it from before going by what Pagester said up the top of the thread. A trust doesnt have to be a campaign against anyone. It can just be an organised way of raising funds, but in a different way to MISA who do a great job in what they do.

As I have said previously I am all for the fans getting more involved. Just a couple of things maybe someone can answer please. What can this Trust do that MISA can't do and, if it takes off, how much this would cost the fans, as a lot on here are quite young and maybe don't realise the cost behind this. I seem to remember Dover doing a similar thing at about £8 per week or so (maybe be incorrect on amount as getting on a bit) wink
