new stadium - who'd fund it

"Not all the money in football is confined to the top flight. Some of it filters down to the 5th level of the non-league. Midland Alliance Stratford Town can allow themselves a hey, nonny, nonny or two with the news that their £1.89m new stadium development is to go ahead. Not all the money in the Bard's home town is being spent on rebuilding the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. The Football Stadia Improvement Fund has provided £981,000 and another £500,000 has come from Stratford Council with the rest of the money being provided by a brewery and from the club's own funds. Whether the new stadium will stop opposition fans singing 'Two or not two nil?' when the home side is losing by that margin is another matter."

Hi Warren , Ted and my self have been looking into funding as a part of our portfolio, for a future for the towns football team. I have in the last week been speaking with our supporters direct representative Kevin Rye, who has put me in touch with the supporters direct person who can help us big time in ways and how we can obtain certain grants etc etc...

If the George green site lifts off , the stadium would be used 7/24 so the football club would only be a small part of this set up, so the money we need to raise. may well be small ammounts ...

and parts of the stadium , leased to us...

we really have to see what happens, knowing us nothing will, but we live in hope...thats why we are Slough Fans...lol..

up the rebels...

see ya saturday / weather permitting...

cheers chris s

Bare in mind that there is a long way to go with anything at the moment, remember what has happened in the past it is likely to be 1-3 years before any building gets underway I would have thought.

I seem to remember that Deaners plans for the stadium based in Britwell was for a 6000 capacity, so I would have thought it would be close to that.

I have to agree with Liam, we need a stadium with basic needs now, with the scope to expand in place for a future ( if and when required) Just like Yeovil did ..they had areas built (infrastructure) where it was easy to expand areas of the ground..this was perfect for them and costs were kept to a miniumum..

also again they seam to have a Yannick in their ranks.. seams that about 10 people are objecting , the rest are open minded and hope they support the idea...I have walked around the site ..what a dump and some of the locals say that the site is not a drugs probelm ..and that the developers are putting the syringes down their on purpose ..dont think so ! is a dump and if these few again railroad the council to object , they stand to lose a great opportunity , just like Britwell did and many now know this and wished they could have turned the clock back ! hope the people of George Green will see pass the smoke screens...and before anyone says why am i commenting about the site, The George is my local and I have many friends who live there... and I can se the old farm buildings from my house ! and I would welcome some new faclities nearer this side of Slough, and the local children need some...beleive me...

cheers Chris
